Some of My Recent Acquisitions

Hope you had a nice weekend. I want to share a handful of my recent aftermarket acquisitions and I welcome you to share what you bought lately. There is no need to mention price or venue, but you are welcome to do so if you’d like.

  • EventManagement.com (private acquisition – includes website)
  • ParquetFloor.com (auction)
  • ScarletMacaw.com (auction)
  • HandCalligraphy.com (auction)
  • BeerRatings.com  (private acquisition)
  • WebsiteLookup.com (auction)

I am actively looking to sell BeerRatings.com and ChineseProverbs.com if you have an interest in either. What are some of the names you recently bought?

  1. I’ll share a few recent aquisitions:
Artistgram.com (auction & my fav grab on the list)
    ArtistTees.com (auction)
    PicGram.com (hand reg)
    ForceDetection.com (hand reg today)
    LikeThisApp.com (hand reg)
    LikeThisPicture.com (auction)
    ILikeThePrice.com (auction)
    Appastasia.com (hand reg)
    3dDesignCompanies.com (hand reg)
    3dHomeModeling.com (hand reg)

Trying to move in the direction of things trending with my “hand reg/auction play money” or a small gamble on brandables for end users, I guess…I tend to not gamble with my investments, but a few domains here and there are ok to me as long as I put in the effort to sell or monetize/build.

  2. A couple comments have gone into spam because Akismet plugin thinks multiple domain names means spam. If your comment(s) goes into the spam folder, I’ll see it and manually approve it eventually.

  3. Some great domains, Elliot. EventManagement.com is a fantastic domain. The exact match and CPC stats on it are excellent.

One of my favorite recent purchases (acquired privately) is: VibrationAnalysis.com

  4. Elliot, you should look at 2012DragonBaby.me and related domains; as you have a DragonGirl having been born in the lucky Year of the Dragon

January WSJ article noted effort made by many Chinese to have baby in a ‘Year of the Dragon’ considered especially lucky

  5. @ Elliot, I like your list, esp. ParquetFloor & WebsiteLookup.

    @ Michael, I like 3dDesignCompanies & 3dHomeModeling – you know I have 3DDesignSoftware!

Thanx for asking. Along with TabletHybrid (under development), I cornered a niche in July with hand regs, all dot com:

    hybridremote
    hybridremotes
    remotehybrid

    • So, you people didn’t like hybridremote[s] dot com . . . Today, Nintendo announced its Nintendo TVii on the Wii U gamepad: http://i.tv/blog/nintendo-and-i-tv-team-up-to-bring-tv-to-wii-u

You’ll be able to access Netflix, HuluPlus, Amazon Instant Video, a dvr like tivo, and regular tv channels in one guide, and use it as a remote control to select the program for the tv screen; then you’ll be able to chat about the program, play games, and take quizzes about the show you’re watching.

It will be truly hybrid when you can modify your air conditioning and dim the lights on the same device . . .

    • . . . adjust the screen width, play ancillary content, and turn the tv on and off, all on one remote! Right now, I have 3 remotes for one tv!

  6. Thanks for letting me share some of my recent domain registrations

    Frankincense.co.za (hand reg)

    Handwrite.mobi (hand reg)
    Latest-Sightings.com (hand reg)

    Thanks for the post.

  9. I like parquetfloor.com – very surprised there wasn’t more interest (I think < 10 bidders).

    gamecodes.org
    lowcal.net

  10. Also Elliot- Thank you for this! It’s awesome that you open up discussion for others to share what they are investing in and not just self promotion, which is not what I’m implying you’re doing. You’re simply sharing what you’ve grabbed recently. Quite fair and honorable.

    Thanks!

    @Louise- lets combine forces somehow?!

  13. Hi Elliot and everybody!

I noticed that you nearly always speak about “english language” domain names. What do you think about portuguese and spanish language domains investments?

I would be happy to get your opinion about those two domains :

    – Jogos-online.com (“Jogos online” means “online games” in portuguese, and represents 6 millions exact monthly searches in Brazil)

    – Juegos-gratis.mx (“Juegos gratis” means “free games” in spanish, and represents 2 millions exact monthly searches in Mexico)

    Any price range?

    Thanks in advance!

    Samuel (France)

I work hard. Are you willing to work hard? Domainers want a big reward without much effort – what about you?

  15. Why would anyone dislike my beautiful Incredouble.com?

I’m going to use it for a major conference double coupon savings project. How would you love incredouble savings on major conferences such as T.R.A.F.F.I.C in Vegas next year? Check back by December, the savings will be incredible.

    incredouble.com coming 2013

  16. I like the recent acquisition thing, very good Elliot!

  18. Elliot,

I don’t appreciate you pushing the “dislike” button multiple times on my posts and domains, Really!!

Stop it. I know it’s you.

  19. Ok, I pushed a couple of “dislike” for yours thinking you started it. Don’t give me dislike if you don’t want any, fair?

Oh, any jackass can buy a domain, but it takes a builder to develop a brand – incredouble.com

    Coming Spring 2013

    • Probably because other people are as confused as I was.

As I mentioned before, I have no way of tracking who pressed what buttons (or who pressed any buttons).

If I could read minds, I probably wouldn’t be in this business, and I certainly wouldn’t be blogging. 🙂

  23. Like or dislike doesnt concern me.

It is easier to press ‘like’ or ‘dislike’ than giving out a constructive feedback.

The important thing is how you develop the domain and make it ‘more’ valuable.

    • It’s also important to know when not to spend time and money developing something. For instance, if you aren’t passionate about a topic, it’s likely that you’ll lose interest and that doesn’t bode well for the success of the site.

That’s what I always thought, and it is my modus operandi . . . People think my portfolio is lame, but there is really a theme running through my emerging tech domains! When you own names as good as mine, development of at least some of them is obigation.

Well said! I liked your comment, too. Sometimes it’s hard to come by validation in the domain community. There is nothing left, but to stick to your narrow vision, if you believe in it.

  25. “if you aren’t passionate about a topic, it’s likely that you’ll lose interest and that doesn’t bode well for the success of the site.”

My understanding is that, even if you are not particularly interested in a topic, you can have articles, blog posts, etc added at very low cost. Trying to sell advertising space and constantly monitoring forum comments could be prohibitive for me, no matter how passionate I feel about a particular subject.

  26. Acro holds the world record for “dislike” on Elliot’s blog with this post, look, I will post it below, here, look:

    Acro

Du yu won tu bai dis do me in!

Hope i Will get a better idea soon..
