What Afternic Needs to Fix / Add on New Landers

Yesterday, I wrote about the new Afternic landing pages that look similar to the Dan landers but with a GoDaddy logo and url. I am going to be migrating most of my inventory currently using Dan.com landing pages, but it is going to take some time to do all of that.

I’ve seen quite a few people share feedback and requests on X. I have also seen people reporting issues and bugs. I have been sharing my own feedback with GoDaddy representatives, and I thought I would put a list together with some of the things I would like to see before moving any of my names priced above $2,000+/-.

  • Make Offer – For a great deal of my inventory, I am happy to accept offers. Perhaps I overpriced a name. If I paid $150 for a name and priced it at $4,999, I would definitely consider a $3,000 offer depending on circumstances at that time. I am a set it and forget it type of person for much of my inventory, so allowing offers based on minimums I have set makes sense.
  • Easy Bulk Editing for CamelCase – At the moment, it is a tedious task to individually change my domain names to CamelCase without developer assistance. I would like to be able to either edit the name directly in my home control panel or upload a list with just the CamelCase names and not have it screw up my pricing.
  • Faster checkout process – I’ve heard that it takes an inordinate amount of time to go from clicking the BIN button to getting to the checkout process. I tested and replicated the time, so I think that needs improvement.
  • Remove upsell domain names from checkout – This is probably too much to a$k GoDaddy, but it may be harmful to sellers if buyers are offered alternative domain names as upsells since a % may choose to simply buy the cheaper alternative instead of the higher value domain name. GoDaddy quickly fixed this already!
  • Fix “All Domains” page bugs – When I highlight “In Review” or “Listed,” it shows all of my domain names. The only button that seems to work is “Not Listed,” which correctly only shows my names that are not listed. This has been fixed.
  • Allow Sellers to Implement a Down Payment – To help reduce the number of canceled deals or to soften the blow of a canceled deal, allow the sellers to implement a down payment or larger first payment.
  • Custom Text and Images – Some sellers want to have a custom text option or image option to enhance their listing or better explain the value proposition.
  • Improve and Enhance Tracking – Provide more and better date about visitors and views.

  1. “Remove upsell domain names from checkout .
Godaddy can only take from you and will never remove this. The reason they use your domain and data to create their silly upsell names and this is one of the reason buyers opt to register a .co or .whatever when they could have simply hit Buy it now.

Godaddy don’t have their inventory and sellers inventory is a plus to have.Since they take 15% commission simply by selling your listed domains which is on their platform.

The percentage of sales from sellers compared to stalled sales caused by Godaddy is way higher than most people think,if you get to see the data .Sellers should be making consistent sales but they overlook that their data is used to generate “alternate names by godaddy to sell,to buyers who typed in your names .

Sellers wake up .I know most Sellers would say ,”as long as I am making a sale I am fine “.If only they see the data of what Godaddy has done to hurt the market.

They bought Dan only to not know how to figure out all these decades how to make a similar lander with a buy it now /make.offer lander.

Afternic is full of bugs and someday your listed buy it now would be adjusted without your knowledge and sold for way cheaper than you think ,while youre thinking ,you forgot to update .

It is a shame Godaddy can make sellers bend their knees or be charged 25 % commission if they don’t change their nameservers and domain sellers are weak to fight back because they are making sales .

Shame on all of you who don’t like it but still bend your knees .

  2. We have given so much feedbacks to GD but they don’t do a shit….what a waste of time

Make offer not on the feature?? Are you kidding??
Is the company run by a hamburger joint?

    • I agree with you. Their brokers have stalled a lot of my sales but most Sellers don’t talk much about it .If they minus the real sales from stalled sales ,people would be shocked. It took them more years to add all these features after buying Dan .With all the millions they spent, they couldn’t find a talent to create all these for a company as big as GD.
Paul nicks who was in charge of overseeing the domain dept was in charge when the decision to force sellers to use their nameservers was made or else people will be fined an extra 10%.

Gd doing what’s greedy and best for them and taking more from hardworking sellers .

      Shame on GD.
