Earlier today, Sedo reported the sale of ADA.com for $200,000. The sale was reported on Sedo’s market activity page, and it was brought to my attention today by Jag Singh. I reached out to Sedo’s Dave Evanson, and he confirmed that the domain name sold, although he was not the broker.
It looks like the buyers of ADA.com were quick to act, as the website is already operational. Here’s an excerpt from the ADA.com about us page:
“Meet ada, a virtual health companion available on the go. Designed by a dedicated team of doctors and computer scientists, ada gives you the best symptom assessment available. Building up a detailed picture of your health over time, ada provides you with an accurate understanding of what is going on and helps you decide on next steps to take.”
Prior to the domain name sale, it looks like the domain name was privately registered. It appears to have been parked at Uniregistry before it was sold. I am unsure if the domain name was bought at a BIN price of $200,000 or if there was any type of extended negotiation done via the Sedo platform. Interestingly, this domain name was listed for less money on a domain broker’s newsletter back in 2013. I am not sure if it was sold then and resold recently or if the market commanded a higher price today than back in 2013.
This sale will rank as the 12th highest sale of the year (tied with the $200k sale of Recovery.net), as archived by DNJournal. It will likely be the highest sale of the week when it is reported by Sedo next week.
Thanks again to Jag Singh for bringing this sale to my attention.
The Buyer is Medx GmbH, a German company from Munich, active in the diagnosis support software.
The company CEO, Daniel Nathrath, also owns ADA.ceo 🙂
Looks like he owns ADA.care, too.
$200k was a steal.
That price is actually excluding commission…so it WAS actually sold for in the region of $230,000
How do you know?
And still a steal.
You should confirm with Sedo’s Dave Evanson. I know that the commission is not included in that price.
In Malay language, ADA means ‘have’.
eg Saya ‘ada’ abang – means I ‘have’ a brother!
