Richard Lau Gives WaterSchool Update

Water SchoolThe WaterSchool is “a global non-profit organization with a mission to provide simple, safe, strategic, and sustainable clean water and sanitation solutions to the developing world.” The organization receives a considerable amount of funding from people within the domain name space, and I believe its largest individual fundraising event is the Water Night party held during NamesCon.

Domain industry veteran Richard Lau serves as the Executive Director of The WaterSchool. In an email sent this morning, Richard shared an update about the organization’s achievements last year. Here’s what Richard shared with newsletter subscribers about the organization’s 2016 activities and accomplishments:

You made a big impact last year.

Because of your generous support, WaterSchool’s simple, proven program reached thousands of people in Uganda in 2016.

By equipping people with the education and tools they need to purify their water, improve their sanitation, and focus on healthy hygiene, you have transformed and saved thousands of lives.

Here’s a snapshot of what you made possible in Uganda last year:
8 schools trained
21,776 households equipped
130,656 people protected from waterborne illnesses
13,806 latrines constructed
4,243 tippy-taps built

Thank you for your continued generous support. Your investment provides clean water – for life.

With gratitude,

Richard Lau
