Liverpool Files UDRP Against FSGBumSniffer.gay

According to the World Intellectual Property Organization, The Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Limited is the complainant in a UDRP filing against the FSGBumSniffer.gay domain name. The complaint is WIPO Case D2023-2814, and no, even though I am an Arsenal supporter, this article is not a prank.

I visited the FSGBumSniffer.gay domain name, but it did not resolve to an active website. The domain name was created in May of this year, and it is registered at Namecheap. I can only assume the complaint was filed because the FSG in the domain name is the same initials as the owner of Liverpool, Fenway Sports Group.

We will need to wait until the decision is published to understand why the UDRP was filed. Perhaps the domain name was used behind the scenes in a way that infringed on the trademarks of Liverpool or its Fenway Sports Group parent.

  1. .gay has anti-homophobia policies, so there’s probably a quicker and cheaper way for FSG to get this domain gone.
