For the last week or so, I have been having an issue logging in to my GoDaddy account from the GoDaddy Auctions page. I reported the issue to GoDaddy, but from what I can glean, the issue is not impacting many people – or at least not many people have reported. I am sharing this to see how many other people are also impacted by this.
When I attempt to log in to my account by clicking the “Log In” button on the GoDaddy Auctions homepage, the username and password login screen pops up. After entering this information, I immediately receive my 2 Factor Authentication code. This is where the issue begins. Instead of seeing the screen to enter my 2FA code, the GoDaddy Auctions homepage refreshes and I can’t login to my account. When I click the “Log In” button again, the process repeats.
The reason this has not been a big issue is that I can still log in to my account from other GoDaddy pages, where I can then navigate over to the Auctions page. It’s an extra step or two, which is no big deal, but I don’t particularly like when things aren’t working as they should.
This issue seems to be related to the Chrome browser. I tried this on my desktop and laptop after clearing my cache and it was not working. After tweeting about this on Saturday, a couple of other people commented that they are experiencing the same issue as me.
The GoDaddy Aftermarket team was informed of the issue, and I know they are working with the engineering team to fix this. Unfortunately, they were unable to replicate this issue, so I thought it would be helpful to see how many people are impacted by it. Perhaps it will be helpful for the company to understand how many people have the issue to see how widespread it is.
If you have the same issue, please reply with a comment. It might be helpful to GoDaddy to know what browser you use if you are able to share. I have given all of the details to GoDaddy Support, but with isolated issues like this, the more information they have, the faster it may be able to be resolved.
Clearing the cookies did solve the issue in the past quite few times. Try a private session first to see if the cookies are the issues.
I’ve had issues with Chrome logins going back many weeks. I have also reported it… the login issue is corrected and then returns eventually. But today GoDaddy is accessible for us – go figure. I switch over to MS Edge until it’s corrected.
Auction login has been working fine for me all week on Chrome
It had happened to me few times last week so I had to give up and wait for a while. After few hours it gets back to normal. Chrome browser as well.
This annoyed me for weeks. Log in using auction page, received my sms code, Had to login again, sms code.. So I am now login from Godaddy home page. No issue
Did you attempt to delete browser cache for GoDaddy specifically?
I cleared everything more than once to no avail.
I’ve been having the same probem for over a year now and still having the same login issue.
Only thing i came up with, was that it was a wifi issue. Once i went on my cell and was on data, the problem didn’t occur.
Hope this helps.
I also told GoDaddy about the login issue and they said the same thing to me, they can’t duplicate the same issue on their end.
I just gave up trying to login at the GoDaddy auctions site and login from their homepage instead.
I think 2FA does not work on some WIFI networks.
For anyone experiencing this issue, please login via the GoDaddy header as a workaround. We believe it has to do with 2FA implementation.
I haven’t had any problems with logging into GD, but I have had issues getting to the page. I went to a page that said this “site is not secure” and had a certificate error. I took a snap shop of the page and have placed it on my twitter account. #gddown
