TRAFFIC Auction Results Update

I received a number of comments on my blog yesterday regarding the fact that the TRAFFIC auction results weren’t livestreamed or blogged by anyone, and I want to post a brief follow up on that.

As I mentioned yesterday, I wasn’t going to be a bidder in the auction and I had no names listed for sale. I decided to take some time to enjoy my trip to Las Vegas (blackjack and the pool) instead of sitting an a domain auction. Sorry, that this upset some, but that’s life.

I reached out to Rick and Howard, and I was able to get some information about the auction, which I posted below. Over 50% of the listed names sold during the auction.

A couple of the auctions have offers close to reserve, so they are labeled as contingent pending owner approval (I assume). If the name doesn’t have a number next to it, I believe it means the name did not sell. It looks like there were some good deals to be had.

My Top 5 Picks for the TRAFFIC Auction

When I received the list of names for today’s TRAFFIC auction, there were a couple of names that caught my eye that I had a serious interest in buying. Since then, I’ve come to terms on a couple of large-ish purchases, so I will most likely be on the sidelines (well, probably playing blackjack or at the pool) for this auction.

Since it’s unlikely that I will be bidding, I thought I would share my top 5 picks from the auction without worrying that I am going to end up giving myself additional competition.

Online bidding is not available for this auction, so if you aren’t in Las Vegas and have a serious interest in the domain name, you should get in touch with conference organizers to sign up for phone bidding: “Just contact Ray Neu.  ray at 54.ws before NOON today west coast time.”   Alternatively, you can try and get someone that you trust to bid on your behalf.

TRAFFIC Offering One Day Passes

I wanted to pass along the news about the TRAFFIC conference offering one day passes to those who can’t attend the entire conference or don’t wish to pay the full amount to attend. There are two options for the one day pass, which will go on sale tomorrow (Monday, May 20).

In case you are interested, here are the two single day pass options as explained by Rick Schwartz:

TRAFFIC Las Vegas Auction List Announced

Rick Schwartz emailed out the list of domain names that will be up for auction during the TRAFFIC conference in Las Vegas later this month. The live auction is scheduled for May 30th from 2PM-4PM. Although the reserve prices weren’t shared, half of the domain names will have no reserve prices.

Details about the actual auction weren’t included in the email. If it’s like recent TRAFFIC auctions, there won’t be an online bidding component. As someone who sells domain names (not in this auction though), it is bothersome that people won’t be able to bid online. However, I assume there will be a bidding phone line for people who wish to bid remotely.

The list of domain names up for auction is below:

Namecheap Sponsoring Water Night During TRAFFIC Conference

Just as the company did at WebFest, Namecheap is once again sponsoring a Water Night party to benefit The Water School during the TRAFFIC conference in Las Vegas. WaterNight will be held at  PBR Rock Bar on  Wednesday May 29th, 2013, and the ticket cost is a donation of $50. The price will increase as it gets closer to the event.

The open bar is paid for by Namecheap, allowing all funds raised to  be donated to The Water School.  DJ Crykit, a popular Las Vegas DJ, will be playing the event. There will be  Bull Riding, Giant Jenga, and lots of networking.

TRAFFIC Conference Ticket Prices Increasing by $200 Tomorrow

I already have my TRAFFIC conference ticket purchased, and I want to give you a reminder about getting yours if you haven’t already. The current price for conference tickets is $1,595. As it gets closer to the conference date, ticket prices rise.

Rick Schwartz just announced that the price for the Las Vegas TRAFFIC conference tickets will increase by $200 tomorrow. If you know you’re going to attend, you might as well buy them before the price goes up. The conference will be held at the Bellagio Hotel from May 29 – June 1 with a few days prior to the conference set aside from private events and networking.

Here’s what Rick said in his email this morning:
