TRAFFIC Conference Prices Increase Monday

If you haven’t purchased your ticket for the TRAFFIC conference in October, now might be the time to do so. I received an email this morning announcing that the price per ticket increases from $1,195 today to $1,395 on Monday at 11PM.

Eventually, ticket prices will reach the final $1,995 price point shortly before the conference kicks off, although there will be a couple of price changes between the $1,395 and $1,995 price points if you haven’t decided yet.

TRAFFIC will be held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida October 20 – 23, 2013. There is cabana networking at the hotel on October 18 – 19, 2013 for paid conference attendees. The Ritz Carlton Hotel

Bouquet.com: Bought at TRAFFIC, Website Already Live

Bouquet.comI’ve heard stories about domain auctions taking quite a bit of time to close post-auction. This is not one of those stories. In fact, the sale of  Bouquet.com is quite the opposite of those, and there is a great auction story to go along with it.

In my opinion, Bouquet.com was the best domain name listed for sale at the TRAFFIC Las Vegas auction. The domain name had a high bid of $27,500, and didn’t hit the reserve price. Post-auction, however, the high bidder agreed to pay the $30,000 reserve price, and the domain name was sold.

Bill McClure of Coffee.org was the winning bidder, and he gave me a play-by-play of the auction and how he became the new owner of the domain name:

Illustrating the Value of TRAFFIC

To me, the value in the TRAFFIC conference is the chance to meet domain investors and people who operate in the domain business. I wrote about my TRAFFIC conference experience, and I want to illustrate the value of the conference to my business.

I’ve known Deepak Daftari through my blog and a domain forum for a few years, although we never met in person. At TRAFFIC Las Vegas, we had the chance to meet and discuss domain investing and our businesses.

In one of our conversations, Deepak recommended that I speak with

Wrapping Up Another Great TRAFFIC Conference

3

The TRAFFIC conference was held in Las Vegas last week, and I want to let you know some of my thoughts about it as well as my thoughts on attending a TRAFFIC conference in general. I already shared some thoughts on holding the conference in Las Vegas, so I’ll stick primarily to the actual conference rather than the venue.

For starters, I’ll illustrate how important it was for me to attend TRAFFIC. This was the first time in over a year that I went away for an extended period of time without my wife and daughter. As much as I knew I would miss them, I realized how important it would be to see business associates and friends, and I am very happy to have made the trip. We’re at an interesting time in the history of domain investing, and I didn’t want to miss this TRAFFIC conference. By the time of TRAFFIC in October, the new gTLDs may have already started to shake things up.

Here are some thoughts about the conference and why I am able to get my money from it every time (no, Rick and Howard

TRAFFIC $995 Price Ends Tomorrow

3

Now that TRAFFIC Las Vegas is in the books, planning has started for the TRAFFIC show in Ft. Lauderdale in October. Ticket prices are $995, but the price will increase tomorrow, per the usual fee schedule. I haven’t seen Rick or Howard offer any types of special price discounts in the past, so this is probably the lowest price you’ll see.

The TRAFFIC conference will be held at the Ritz Carlton beginning October 20th. I already got my ticket, and I know a bunch of others who locked theirs in as well at the rate. It makes sense to do that if you know you’re going to be there.

My TRAFFIC Las Vegas wrap post will be on my blog later on today or tomorrow, so perhaps you’ll see what value you can expect from the conference if you attend.

In case you aren’t 100% sure about attending yet and the ticket price plays a role in your decision, here’s the fare schedule for the conference:

  • $995 thru Wednesday
  • $1195 thru June 30
  • $1395 thru July 31
  • $1595 thru August 31
  • $1795 thru September 30th
  • $1995 after September 30th

Discussing the TRAFFIC Las Vegas Venue

I’ll have a more comprehensive post about the TRAFFIC conference within the next couple of days, but I want to discuss the Bellagio as the TRAFFIC conference venue and make a few observations about Las Vegas as well. Overall, I thought holding the conference in Las Vegas was a very good idea, and I enjoyed being out there.

Until my late 20s (I am in my early 30s now), I had never visited Las Vegas. In the last 5 years, I’ve been to a couple of bachelor parties in Las Vegas, a long weekend with my wife, and now a business conference. For the sake of this discussion, you should probably know I enjoy spending time in the city of Las Vegas.

In my 3 prior trips, I had only spent a brief amount of time at the Bellagio. I went to Bank nightclub and did some gambling there. I found the hotel to be huge, which is good and bad for the sake of this conference. Let’s discuss…
