I was doing some domain name acquisition research at DomainTools last week when I came across Together.com. I noticed the screenshot from July showed a Mark Monitor landing page that said “This Domain Name May Be for Sale.” Based on the current Whois information, which differs from the Whois information at the time of the screenshot, it appears that Together.com may have recently changed hands.
My guess is that a transaction happened sometime around the beginning of November. If you look at the Whois history, an organization called The Climate Group owned the domain name until the end of October. In early November, a new registrant was listed. The domain name now resolves to TogetherNetworks.com.
I did some research, including a search of the domain sales database at NameBio, and I did not find a sale listing for this domain name. Additionally, I could not find any public sale listings for Together.com, nor could I find the domain name listed for sale publicly. This doesn’t mean the domain name wasn’t publicly offered for sale, just that I couldn’t find any results for it.
My guess is that Mark Monitor was able to facilitate a deal either via inbound inquiry or via outbound prospecting, and a deal transacted under the radar. My opinion is that this is a six figure domain name.
I reached out to the new registrant to seek information, but I didn’t hear back. I also reached out to Mark Monitor and the company’s press team, but due to the holiday, I wasn’t able to get any information from the company. If I receive any information subsequent to this article, I will share it with you.
On 3rd of Nov. DNJournal reports together.co sold for $17k.
I bet you it’s the same business that bought the .com version.
Not sure – Together.CO is forwarding to someone’s personal About.me page.
