Submit Domain Names for DomainFest Macau Auction

The DomainFest conference in Macau is coming up in just under a month from now, and I received an email seeking out domain name submissions for an auction that will take place during the event. The auction is being conducted by Right of the Dot, and it will take place on the 4.cn domain name marketplace. The auction will be held online from September 2nd – 10th.

As you can probably imagine, it looks like the auction organizers are only seeking out high quality domain names that would appeal to the market. The types of domain names they suggested are high value liquid domain names, particularly short names, numeric domain names, and possibly some short one word domain names.

For your convenience, I have published the email I received below. Before you submit your list of domain names, you should probably carefully review the types of domain names they are seeking.

RightoftheDot.com (ROTD) will be conducting a Premium Online Domain Auction in cooperation with the leading Chinese Domain auction company 4.CN and in association with DomainFest.asia – which will be held in Macau China, September 4th through 7th, 2015. The auction will run online on 4.cn in English and Traditional Chinese from September 2 through September 10th.

Since this auction is for a Chinese and worldwide audience, we are looking for LL.com, LLL.com, LLLL.com, LLLLL.com domain names (without vowels) NN.com NNN.com, NNNN.com and NNNNN.com’s and words that have relevancy and meaning in the Chinese markets. We are also looking for short 1 word .com and .cn names. We are focusing on very premium names and some very premium new gTLD’s in the mix from registries.

The Chinese buyers are very serious about buying short numeric 2-5 number and short 2-3 letter .com and .cn names and they have consistently demonstrated they will pay very competitive prices. The auction will create even more competition for these specific kinds of names. As you might have seen recently the domain name 358.com sold for $480,000 on SnapNames.com after starting out at $69.00. We need great domains at attractive prices to encourage the same kind of strong bidding on 4.cn.

Highlights of the ROTD /DomainFest Auction:
This is a historic international auction …the first ever of its kind. Competition will be high.
Online Auction Dates : September 2-10, 2015.
Primary bidders will be Chinese investors and end users.
Auction is being marketed worldwide to end users and investors.
Auction will be on 4.CN (The leading auction platform in China).
The auction will be in in both Chinese and English Languages.
The auction will allow for bidding USD, Euros, and RMB (Chinese Yuan).
We already have some great submissions but need more. We are going to be making selections in the next 1-2 weeks as we are already starting the marketing and outreach efforts.

Please submit your names for consideration (along with the absolute minimum net to seller price to be included with submission) at info@rightofthedot.com or let us know if you have any questions.

Note: ROTD is also conducting a live and online auction at the NamesCon.com auction in January 10-13, 2016 and are opening up submissions in September, please let us know which name you would like us to consider for NamesCon as well.

  1. “we are looking for LL.com, LLL.com, LLLL.com, LLLLL.com domain names”

Are they really looking for LLLLL (5L)? I thought 4L is the limit when it comes to popularity.

    • Given the number of Chinese-language inquires and offers I’ve received in the last 90+/- days for the Cupertino, CA zip code 95015(.)com, it looks like the market for 5Ls is also now hot.

Are others experiencing such a surge in interest in their 5Ls.com?

    • Sorry, meant to say 5Ns, not 5Ls.

Wonder if GoDaddy’s experiencing a similar uptick in activity on all those 5N zip codes they recently bought as part of that major purchase of the Marchex portfolio.
