Recent Acquisitions

It’s been a couple of months since the last time I shared some of my recent domain name acquisitions, so I thought I’d share some with you. The names listed below were bought in the aftermarket, either via auction, through a broker, or in a private purchase.

The names listed below are a selection of names that I’ve purchased in the last couple of weeks that I haven’t sold (or built) yet. As you can see, I am not focusing on a specific vertical, and I am not buying “brandable” domain names. I stick to keyword .com domain names for my investments.

I invite you to share some of your recent aftermarket acquisitions if you’d like.

I can relate to two of your domains. A Feng Shui consultat advised me to get an awesome job. However, I made a few time management mistakes several months later that resulted in termination

I had on my acquisition list. Opening this post and seeing it was like a dagger to the heart! πŸ™‚ good luck with it though. Would love to know what you paid to get it, but I’m sure that’s not something you’ll want to share, which of course I understand.

I was going to make websites but really haven’t got the time now due to family commitments. Don’t know what to do with them now there just sat in my godaddy account lol.

      Elliot Silver

I don’t see any value in them, so I would probably drop them. Could be wrong of course, but those aren’t the types of names I would buy.

      August 27th, 2013 at 4:52 pm

Your a pro I ant got a clue about domaining I had some ideas for these domain names as a hobby but don’t have the time. What sort of names do you go for and do you just sell them or make websites.

      August 27th, 2013 at 4:57 pm

      Elliot Silver

You can review the list above to see what types of domain names I am buying.

Not trying to be harsh, but trying to give you an honest opinion so you don’t waste money.

      August 27th, 2013 at 4:59 pm

Oh I don’t mind you been harsh just I don’t know anything about your business but after what I have read I do find it interesting.

“Corporate Accountant” could be a title for a corporate accounting magazine. I’m just curious if you have already identified potential buyers for that name.

I haven’t started end user outreach.

      Elliot Silver

Was that you who inquired about this name a minute ago, or is it a coincidence?

      August 27th, 2013 at 8:17 pm

      Leonard Britt

No, I did not inquire. I am a CPA/CMA but was curious who would be the ideal buyer. The IMA might be a target and I’m sure there are professional Accounting organizations in the UK and Canada and Australia as well. Perhaps Robert Half / Accountemps might be an idea. I guess my view is that it will take a bit more work to move this domain than just sending a few emails.

Ironic… within 10 minutes after your comment, I received an inquiry about it:

Sorry, if I start telling people what I think of their names, I will end up offending people and will get a whole bunch of submissions. I think DomainSherpa is offering portfolio reviews.

      August 28th, 2013 at 10:41 am

Elliot , why are you selling for 45000 usd if you bought it for 125000 usd ??
It will be a huge loss if in case.

    August 28th, 2013 at 5:16 pm

I didn’t buy it for $125k. That was my asking price. I am offering it for a lower price for 48 hours.

I don’t share my purchase prices.
