About a week ago, I was driving in my car listening to Kiss 108, the Boston-area radio station that plays the most popular music hits. I recognized but couldn’t place the singer’s voice, and as I continued on the drive, I realized it was Rob Grant’s daughter, Lana Del Rey.
It turns out that Lana’s song, Summertime Sadness, is one of the most popular songs in the world right now. Billboard ranks it at #15 and rising on its Billboard Hot 100 chart. Summertime Sadness is ranking higher than songs by Macklemore (Can’t Hold Us, #18), Justin Timberlake (Mirrors, #20), and even One Direction (Best Song Ever, #21).
It’s been fun following along with Lana Del Rey’s career, and hopefully her hit will continue to rise on the charts.
I saw her live at a Belgian concert last year. She was great!
I like the dance version of the song. Hearing it regularly on XM radio dance station. She has such a unique and rich voice.
I thought the same thing when I heard it here in Edmonton. It’s a big hit, hopefully one of many for her.
What’s interesting is that the song was originally released back in June/July 2012. Talk about being a sleeper hit! Personally, it’s one of my fav tracks off the album.
What is most interesting is how this song relates to domain names. Running out of domain content?
Tired of dealing with lowlife comments from the fringes. Recharging my batteries.
Kidding aside, why can’t I take a day off from blogging without a snide comment? Sheesh. Get a life.
Seems like you need to recharge the batteries. Your recent vacation may have been cut short. Just saying this post has nothing to do with domain names. Don’t have a coronary now.
You should be immune to any comment made on your blog. I deal with seeing many bad domains listed in this website, where domain owners think they own something worthwhile. They allude EMD and try to get all creative.
Being direct and criticism are part of the domain game. Domain bloggers must have thick skin to deal with criticism. You should know that by now.

Daughter of a domainer makes it close enough for me :-)Many domainers feel like they know her and many do!
Keep up the good work, Elliot!
Exactly 😉
Argh, Lana is amazing…… a rare gem of the music industry today. I sure hope she comes back with some fresh awesome stuff after this “6 month hiatus” she claims to be having. I’m not sure why this song has become popular this year when its over a year old, though.
Shes doing very well in the UK with a lot of Radio coverage from the BBCs Radio 1 ( biggest radio station in UK)
