Andrew Rosener of Media Options has agreed to acquire the g.Holdings domain name from my company for $1,250. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t report a domain name sale publicly, but this one is for a great cause.
All proceeds from the sale of this domain name have been donated to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a part of my Pan-Mass Challenge fundraising drive. Andrew’s company gets a domain name with great potential, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute gets a four figure donation. That’s what I call a win-win situation.
This Sunday morning, I will ride my bike almost 50 miles with over 5,000 other bicyclists to raise funds for Dana-Farber. If you don’t know what Dana-Farber is or how it helps people with cancer, you can read more about this great organization here. Cancer impacts just about everyone in some way, be it through a family member or friend. Dana-Farber helps people who have cancer, and they do research to find a cure.
I still have a bit more than one day to go to hit my $5,000 ($7,000 stretch) fundraising goal before my ride, and I would sincerely appreciate your support. As of right now, I am still a bit short of my goal, and I would love to see it surpassed with your help. Every dollar will help.
I am determined to reach my fundraising goal in support of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and I appreciate any support you can provide!
THANK YOU to all who have donated to support Dana-Farber on my behalf.
Big thank you to Jacob Fedosky for making a large donation to hit my $5,000 fundraising goal!!
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a great organization and can use all the help they can get.
THANK YOU to ALL who helped me raise funds for DFCI!
Happy to help Elliot!
I tried to donate but they don’t seem to want non-US money. Require a ZIP code. Can I just paypal you the funds? Email me.
Bummer!
If I had a personal Paypal account I would do it, but it would complicate things for my accountant.
Thank you for trying to make it happen.
Sometimes when a big sale comes along I donate a portion to world vision, as well as the RNC and others.
I like to surprise people/orgs after making a large sale, and I tend to do it as anonymously as possible. Feels good to help others without them knowing who was involved. 🙂
You’re a good guy Elliot…
I am going to make a stretch goal of $7,000 for the campaign. I want to raise as much as possible, and I don’t want anyone who wants to donate to be dissuaded from doing so because my arbitrary goal was met.
Hats off Andrew, Jacob and all other donors! Good for you raising the bar Elliot! Hopefully at this moment, you’re getting some sleep for tomorrow’s rainy ride!
I screwed up my schedule, and my 47 mile ride is actually Sunday: http://www.pmc.org/routes/wellesley-wellesley-one-day
Luckily for me, the weather is suppose to be better on Sunday 🙂
Thank you for your support!
Kudos Elliot
