This morning, I watched Jimmy Fallon’s interview with New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick and Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman. During the interview, Fallon suggested that Edelman retire and open a restaurant called Edelman’s Catch because of the incredible catch he made during the Super Bowl.
Here’s the clip:
After hearing Fallon’s suggestion, I was curious if someone had registered the EdelmansCatch.com domain name. I assumed someone probably registered it as soon as the Pats won and the catch would go down in NFL history as one of the greatest plays in Super Bowl history. Sure enough, not only was it recently registered, but someone created a fun website to raise money for the Greater Boston Food Bank.
Here’s what the owner of the website says on the About Us page:
“This site is not affiliated with Julian Edelman or The Greater Boston Food Bank. It’s simply a fan-built site aiming to make a difference…I built it on a whim after being inspired by Jimmy Fallon’s joke about Julian Edelman retiring and opening a seafood restaurant. “
I think this is a great idea that has some legs because people around here will refer to “Edelman’s Catch” for a long time. Hopefully the website helps to raise a lot of money for the GBFB (and that the owner of the domain name doesn’t get any heat for registering it).
