Donny Deutsch’s Domain Name Expired – Set for Auction

This morning, I was looking through my list of upcoming domain name auctions via Dropping.pro, and I saw a domain name that caught my attention. DonnyDeutsch.com is on today’s expired domain name list and will be auctioned at NameJet if it is not renewed today. The domain name currently has a Network Solutions expiry landing page.

The domain name was created in 2002, and it is registered at Network Solutions. It expired in mid-March of this year.

Donny Deutsch is a well-known personality in the advertising business. Mr. Deutsch was the CEO of the eponymously named Deutsch Inc. advertising agency, which he sold to Interpublic $265 million in 2000. For many years, he has been a television commentator covering everything from advertising and marketing news to politics.

I was curious to see if Mr. Deutsch used the DonnyDeutsch.com domain name or if someone else had registered it. It turns out, DonnyDeutsch.com is prominently featured on Deutsch’s Twitter profile:

Using the Whois History tool at DomainTools, I can see the domain name was registered in the name of Donny Deutsch, but the registrant email address associated with the domain name was not his email address. The email address on the Whois record for this domain name appears to be associated with a senior Deutsch, Inc. executive.

Because the domain name is registered at Network Solutions, it will be auction at NameJet, the auction platform owned by Newfold Digital, parent company of Network Solutions. There are already bidders who backordered DonnyDeutsch.com, so the domain name is not going to be deleted.

I don’t know the deadline for renewing a domain name before it is too late, but it will end up in auction beginning tomorrow if it is not renewed in time.
