Are You At NamesCon?

In late November, I posted a poll asking visitors if they had plans to attend NamesCon. At that point, I was on the fence about going due to other travels, but I made the trip and am glad to be here. 52% of responders said they were not going and 18% said they were undecided.

I understand there are now close to 600 attendees, which is probably one of the three most well attended domain name specific conferences. Kudos to Richard Lau, Jodi Chamberlain, and Jothan Frakes on organizing such a well attended event in less than three months!

I am curious to know if you decided to attend NamesCon. I assume this will be skewed a bit since many attendees probably won’t be reading domain blogs this evening or the morning, but it will be interesting to see how the percentages changed since the first time I asked.

If you’re here, say hello. Like many others (it seems), I am battling a cold right now, so don’t take offense to my non-handshake greetings.

  1. I’m not there, but it’s only because I had to be in NYC this Wednesday, the 15th. I hope that you and everybody out there has a great time. It sounds like a terrific event. And it certainly has been impressive that the organizers put such a conference together in such a short time.

  2. I wish I was. No one’s fault but my own but I just had some personal issures that I need to deal with at home. It would have been great to meet so many people that I look up to and learn from on a regular basis. It also would have been nice to whoop everyone in the table tennis tourney. It’s always so exciting to meet others who are involved with and like to talk about domain names. I hope everyone there has a productive and profitable time.

  3. If you run into a bold guy with a dumb looking smile and dirt under his lip, tell him to wipe that brown stuff off his nose, it’s gets embarrassing after a while.

And Elliot, if you want to WIN some money, take all your black jack winnings and bet on the NFL championship game this weekend, take the Patriots and the points, Bronco’s will win but they wont cover the 5 or 6 point spread, just like they didn’t cover it against San Diego.

    Good luck!
