The next time I go over the Bourne Bridge, it will be during the @PanMass in a week and a half. Thank you to Bill Doshier from @dotstrategy for donating to my fundraiser today! Support from my domain industry colleagues has me close to the $18k goal: https://t.co/Q3HTryN43j pic.twitter.com/c24JtSaBV3

My wife ran the Boston Marathon in April of this year on the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team. Not only did she have a great run (3:31:23), but she also set a very high bar on the fundraising front. I can’t compete with her on a run, so I set a serious fundraising goal of $18,000 for my Pan-Mass Challenge this year.
Yesterday afternoon, I took a trip to Cape Cod. In order to get to the Cape, you need to cross one of two bridges. We drove over the Bourne Bridge, which always seems much more imposing when I am riding over it on my bicycle at 5am on the second day of the PMC. It was a good reminder that the PMC is fast approaching in less than 10 days.
Shortly before tweeting, Bill Doshier from .Buzz made a donation to put me past the $17,000 fundraising mark. A little while later, Bill Patterson put me over the $18,000 goal I set. Now, I am kicking myself for not setting a higher goal since all of the funds go to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to help its cancer fighting mission.
I have a tremendous amount of gratitude for my friends and colleagues in the domain industry who have supported my Pan-Mass Challenge fundraising. It is an honor to share that we have raised over $100,000 for Dana-Farber in the past 9 years.
In a week from Saturday, John Berryhill and I will start out on our two day bike ride. It is without a doubt that I will be propelled by the excitement of how much we have been able to raise for Dana-Farber so far this year. $18k was an arbitrary goal I set for myself, and it would be great to raise even more before we ride.
