Why I Am Riding in the 2016 Pan-Mass Challenge

As you may have seen or heard, I will be riding in the 2016 Pan-Mass Challenge in early August in order to raise funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and its Jimmy Fund. I will be doing the two-day 163 mile route this year, and my fundraising goal is $10,000.

Dana-Farber is one of the leading cancer organizations in the world. They do great things for people battling cancer, and they are constantly searching to find a cure for cancer. My wife and I do what we can to help Dana-Farber because we know that the doctors, nurses, and staff are doing what they can to fight cancer and help people who have cancer.

I have known quite a few people who have battled cancer. Friends and family have fought valiantly against a disease that doesn’t seem to discriminate. When I am doing my training rides, I think about some of the people I know who had cancer, especially those who lost their battles. My Aunt Marilyn bravely fought pancreatic cancer, and sadly, she lost her battle. Ironically, there is a street called Marilyn Dr. that I sometimes  pass during my training rides. I always think about my aunt, and that provides additional motivation for me.

I am almost at the half way point of my fundraising effort this year. Thanks to domain industry friends and colleagues, we have raised just over $4,600 so far. My 2016 fundraising goal is $10,000. With your help, I am confident I will be able to reach this goal.

If you are able to help me with my fundraising efforts, I would be grateful. I will also add you to the list of industry donors as a way of recognizing your support, which means a great deal to me.

You can learn more about the Pan-Mass Challenge on my fundraising page. Thank you in advance if you are able to help. Even if finances are tight, a social media mention would also be greatly appreciated!
