Uniregistry sent out an email to customers informing them that the company will be removing TopCoin from its platform on January 1, 2019. The company had been giving out TopCoin as a reward for registering and renewing domain names. In its email, Uniregistry advised customers they could still redeem TopCoin with Uniregistry through March 31. I reviewed the TopCoin website but do not see where or how TopCoin can be used.
Last December, TopCoin shared some news about a token issuance, but I am not sure what the status with that is.
Here’s the email announcement from Uniregistry:
We are taking steps to remove TopCoin from our platform.
The decision to discontinue TopCoin did not come easily and was largely based on customer feedback and our desire to focus on in-house products and offerings.
Starting January 1st, 2019 we will no longer issue TopCoin as a reward currency.
Existing TopCoin owners will have until March 31st, 2019 to redeem their TopCoins with Uni and access their TopCoin account balance with us.
TopCoin will still be redeemable through approved TopCoin merchants. Please visit topcoin.com for more information.

Find a cryptocurrency exchange that offers TOP/BTC pairs, trade the BTC for LTC, send the LTC to Coinbase, then sell the LTC for USD.
Can you redeem them when you transfer or renew .com domains or is it this BS nTLD’s only?

Uniregistry is seriously getting worse everyday with their new gimmicks ans upsells. So sad to see them spiraling down. They are a very dishonest company. I’ll never forget all the sherpa advertisements when they claimed they would never upsell anyone or charge for additional items or be like other registrars… and Boom here they are.. digging for anything to tighten up and make an extra buck
I’ll have to agree with Daniel about Uniregistry having “honesty” issues.The Bait & Switch tactic of offering you special pricing discounts that I was told by the Director of Registrar Sales “will stay fixed” to my account and not a ‘gotcha’ was totally untrue. I move my names over because of the promise & then they create this Domain Perks BS saying I have to pay a $180-$228 annual subscription fee to continue to get the rates they promised (‘gotcha’). Wow.. they literally pulled the same game on you and smiled while doing it. This is straight up the worst way to treat customers and a horrible business practice. This will surely bite them in the behind as time goes on.

I think Frank claimed once that a single unireg client had bought millions of dotJunk newgtld domains and use the resulting topcoin kickback to buy an apartment !
