Another major corporate rebrand was announced today. This time, the news involved the publicly traded financial services company, Square. The company unveiled a new parent brand name today called Block, which encompasses Square, CashApp, Tidal, and another newly created cryptocurrency brand called Spiral:
We’re changing our company name so we can give the full @Square brand to our Seller business. So now we need a name to tie @Square, @CashApp, @TIDAL, and @TBD54566975 together into one. That name is “Block.” Why? https://t.co/vVSKNnMUU3

Block uses the Block.xyz domain name for its website, which has already launched. Spiral is also using a .xyz domain name – Spiral.xyz.
.XYZ continues to gain momentum both in the corporate world and in the aftermarket (see NameBio results from the last couple of years). From what I have been following, one investor in particular, Swetha Yenugula, has been doing particularly well with a .XYZ portfolio.
XYZ CEO Daniel Negari must be pretty happy with this news:
Probably nothing

From today, Newgtlds are investible assets, almost as good as .COM, and sometimes, better.
Yo bought too many.
I don’t own any .xyz at the moment; and my comment is not exclusive to .xyz;
If you recall my postulations back in 2012 about newgtlds, the 8th was that if one string succeeds, they all succeed; granted .io is not one of them, but because they successfully went mainstream, it jerked the psyche of businesses that it is safe to go outside of .com; so, slowly, adoption has spread to .xyz, and perhaps a couple of others, so it will continue; even private strings, such as decentralized ones like .eth are creeping up. Following the logic to a natural conclusion, domain space is about to be “decentralized”, and let me quickly add that even the “newgtlds” are going to be the ultimate losers because, there are now “mieable” private strings that has nothing to do with ICANN,. I own a few those including:
block.yzx
0.yo
..and many others.
mieable = mineable
“almost as good as .COM, and sometimes, better.”
Thanks D. My biggest laugh of the day.
I meant to say that premium newgtlds are now better than “pigeon sh^t” .coms, sorry
