We took a trip out to Nantucket this weekend to see some friends and enjoy one of our favorite places to visit. I brought my bike on the trip and had the pleasure of taking two nice training rides on the island. I am not athletically gifted, so I really need to put some miles on the bike before August’s Pan-Mass Challenge ride.
Truthfully, just one of the rides was great from a riding perspective. The first one, though, we ran into a torrential downpour with some hail for the final 4 miles. We thought we could beat the rain bands that were threatening from afar, but we got caught in the middle. It was incredible. On the plus side, every few years it seems like we deal with a pretty strong rain during the PMC, so it’s good train in that weather.
For the first ride, I wore my 2020 domain industry PMC kit. For the second ride, I wore this year’s domain industry sponsored jersey.
So far this year with the help of friends, colleagues, and family, we have raised $16,790. As a competitor, this is pretty neat because I surpassed my wife’s Boston Marathon fundraising for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. My stretch fundraising goal for this year is $18,000.
Thanks to all of my friends and colleagues who have helped raise funds for Dana-Farber.
Whoa Elliot! At first glance, I thought Lance Armstrong was making a comeback! 🙂
