Because Ron Jackson does such a great job reporting domain industry news on DNJournal.com, I think one of the most under-recognized people in the domain industry is Andrew Allemann of DomainNameWire.com. Andrew has been reporting domain industry news since 2005, and he is always the source of great domain information. I’ve met Andrew once in person and had a few phone and email conversations in the past year or so, and I wanted to take a second to give him props. DomainNameWire.com is one of the first domain news outlets I read in the morning, and I appreciate Andrew’s coverage and dedication to the industry.
Props to Andrew Allemann at DomainNameWire.com

DomainNameWire is excellent. I visit everyday since you can get a pretty unbiased, factual account of newsworthy events. Andrew’s endorsement of Parked.com gave me confidence in their service and his recommendation has proven to be true and accurate.

Hey, thanks Elliot!
-Andrew
Agree. A real leader in the industry.
Willing to call ’em as he sees ’em.
“Andrew with DomainNameWire.com has far greater journalistic integrity than Ron Jackson. Andrew’s work is unfettered, less filtered or fluffed; true journalism without the agenda.” – Ken
***UPDATED BY ELLIOT***
I don’t agree with that. I think both Andrew and Ron go to great lengths to cover the industry in an unbiased way. Ron recently left his role at Bido to remain unbiased.
I am a daily reader and I also confirm that Andrew has a great journalistic integrity and his work is unfettered, not filtered or fluffed. The domain industry is not only a selection of the most popular/rich actors and services, Andrew has the intelligence to cover the domaining world in all his aspects.
Continue your good job Andrew!
To Ken (above): There is no need for hating. We could tell who is doing what in this sect. Let’s give credit to whom it is due; both Ron Jackson and Andrew Allemann are doing great jobs. Without them, many of us would be wondering blindly in this industry..
Good observations, Eliot.
That’s a great props to Andrew and I totally agree. I have contacted Andrew privately on a few occasions with questions and to seek advice and he’s been very responsive, honest and helpful. Thanks Andrew!
Thanks Elliot for calling this out on your own blog!
Cheers.
Andrew gets an A+ from me as well. He is a very solid reporter and a great guy too. It’s natural for people to want to turn everything into a competition, but I think all of us in the domain media space complement each other rather than compete with one another. In my experience we all respect each other’s work and get along very well on a personal level. The emergence of so many intelligent voices with varying viewpoints (including top notch blogs like Elliot’s) is a great thing for the industry and for those who now have a wide variety of resources to use so they can learn about the business. Having a real and robust domain media corps is one of the unmistakable signs of a growing, diverse and professional industry. I think we are blessed to have the wide variety of reliable news and information sources that we have and Andrew’s work is a big reason I feel that way.
I first met Andrew at (I believe) TRAFFIC East 2006. He’s an excellent journalist and DomainNameWire.com is on my daily must-read list.
Andrew Allemann and Ron Jackson are GREAT people for sure – I have learned a lot of from their websites about domain names (and from your as well) – many thanks to ALL of YOU GREAT PEOPLE
