Yesterday afternoon, fashion model Kylie Jenner tweeted about KHY.com, a domain name she is now using for a fashion brand and clothing line.

From what I can tell using the DomainTools Whois History Tool, KHY.com transferred from GoDaddy to Safenames in September, where it is now registered under Whois privacy. Due to Whois privacy on the registrant Whois record at GoDaddy, I am unable to see who sold KHY.com. According to Jack from DN.com, the seller of KHY.com is a Chinese domain investor:
Congratulations to Kylie Jenner for just acquiring the short domain name https://t.co/hmjYko0D47! The seller is a Chinese domain name investor!
With a large number of celebrities using short domain names, short domain names will become even more popular! pic.twitter.com/3apiTJxIWa

It looks like this domain name has changed hands quite a few times over the years. As recently as 2015, the domain name was owned by Tucows, according to DomainTools. Since then, the domain name changed registrants several times that I could see.
I couldn’t guess the acquisition price of KHY.com, but perhaps it will be shared at some point.
Kudos to Kylie Jenner for acquiring her brand matching .com domain name out of the gate. That was a smart decision to secure the domain name before announcing the KHY brand name.
It’s absolutely correct. As an owner of many three character domain names, I see that the demand has been very high. As was reported on DN Journal, the domain name 2tk.com, which is a 3-character domain name, was sold for $30,000, and the inquiries regarding this category of domain names is three-fold what it used to be. I believe they are following the thinking of Elon Musk’s transition from Twitter to X, because it is easier to spell, type and remember.
