DomainFest is 2+ Weeks Away: Are You Going?

The 2014 edition of DomainFest will be taking place in Hollywood, California from March 31 – April 2, 2014, which is two weeks from Monday. When I initially posed this question shortly after the dates were announced, just over 50% of the people who voted in the poll said, “yes.” Now that the conference is just a short time away, I am curious if you are going.

At this point, I am 95% sure I am not going to be able attend. I had originally scheduled a short family trip during DomainFest and the weekend before, but we changed it to the week prior. Instead, we’re having Hailey’s 2nd birthday party that weekend. I may make a last minute trip out there to finalize a deal that is in the works, but it’s a long trip for me and I don’t think I’ll be able to swing.

I am curious if you are going to be at DomainFest. You are welcome to share why you are going or aren’t going in the comment section. I am sure it’s going to be an excellent event as always.

  1. Second Birthdays only come once. What’s the benefit of working for yourself and putting in those long hours if not to have the flexibility to spend the important times with your family. I hope you have a great time celebrating. I will be attending the conference and I am looking forward to some of the sessions and of course to seeing people who will be there. Maybe we can catch up another time this year.

  2. Hmm, i’m about 45 minutes away make that an hour or so with the 405 traffic.
I have not been up in the Hollywood area since my last band played at club central on sunset, its called the viper room now and i used to sing with my band at madame wong’s west quite a bit.
You have got me thinking it may not be a bad idea, i will look it up and see where it is. Maybe i can find out what i’m still doing wrong after four years in this business.

  3. Sorry to post again, but has it been two years since your daughter was born, seems like yesterday i was reading it in your blog.
Elliot i don’t know you, never have met you but want to let you know that i read every blog and value your opinion in this industry very much.
Keep up the great work and enjoy your daughters birthday.

  4. Sir Elliot- LISTEN TO ME

Family esp daughter activities MUST COME FIRST- because when it is gone it is gone.

Domain stuffs–who really cares, you can always go the next one.

Hate to tell you all, Domain meeting in Seattle Space Needle is the all time best!!!

  5. What can you gain from a domain convention in March that you didn’t gain from a domain convention in February?

The frequency of these conventions are closer than they’ve ever been, it’s as though their all trying to out do each other.

  6. Happy Birthday to Hailey!! I know the feeling as I missed NamesCon due to my son’s Bday and a preplanned family ski trip. However, Igloo.com is a sponsor at DomainFest, speaking in two sessions and looking forward to being there in a few weeks!

On that note, if anyone is still interested in signing up for DomainFest, they are welcome to email Igloo directly for our sponsor discount code at partners@igloo.com 🙂
