TRAFFIC Las Vegas Auction List Announced

Rick Schwartz emailed out the list of domain names that will be up for auction during the TRAFFIC conference in Las Vegas later this month. The live auction is scheduled for May 30th from 2PM-4PM. Although the reserve prices weren’t shared, half of the domain names will have no reserve prices.

Details about the actual auction weren’t included in the email. If it’s like recent TRAFFIC auctions, there won’t be an online bidding component. As someone who sells domain names (not in this auction though), it is bothersome that people won’t be able to bid online. However, I assume there will be a bidding phone line for people who wish to bid remotely.

The list of domain names up for auction is below:

INVEST Domain Conference in Mexico City May 20-21

Invest conferenceI just learned about the INVEST domain conference that is scheduled for May 20-21, 2013 in Mexico City, Mexico. According to the INVEST website, this year marks the fifth annual conference, which focuses on domain names and Internet marketing.

There are a number of interesting panels, speakers, and discussions, and it doesn’t appear to be focused on the Mexican marketplace. I am not sure what language will be used as the primary form of  communication  during the conference, so you’ll want to check on that before committing. Braden Pollock will be moderating the conference, so I would believe English is the primary language.

According the conference website, these are the objectives:

Bill Hartzer to be Keynote Speaker at DBRFF

It was just announced that search engine optimization expert Bill Hartzer will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Domain Boardroom Fun Fest, a fee free conference for members of the private Domain Boardroom domain forum. Bill will be discussing current SEO issues and topics, going over basic SEO strategy, and doing a Q and A.

Bill has given me quite a bit of SEO help on my websites over the last few years. He has always provided me with actionable information to let me know what I can do to increase visitor stickiness while making my websites more visible in Google. I have found Bill’s services to be affordable.

I believe the most beneficial aspect of Bill’s talk at DBRFF is that he will do some website reviews for DBR members. In addition to speaking about SEO, he will give examples and tips using member websites. Some might cringe at the idea of having their website disected, but it will be helpful to those who volunteer to have their site reviewed and discussed.

Donna Mahony is expecting between 50 – 100 people in attendance for the conference. I believe sponsorships opportunities are still available.

TRAFFIC Conference Ticket Prices Increasing by $200 Tomorrow

I already have my TRAFFIC conference ticket purchased, and I want to give you a reminder about getting yours if you haven’t already. The current price for conference tickets is $1,595. As it gets closer to the conference date, ticket prices rise.

Rick Schwartz just announced that the price for the Las Vegas TRAFFIC conference tickets will increase by $200 tomorrow. If you know you’re going to attend, you might as well buy them before the price goes up. The conference will be held at the Bellagio Hotel from May 29 – June 1 with a few days prior to the conference set aside from private events and networking.

Here’s what Rick said in his email this morning:

Domain Boardroom Gearing Up For Second Annual DBR Fun Fest

Domain Boardroom  (DBR) is a private domain forum operated by Donna Mahony, and it boasts an active membership of almost 200 high caliber domain investors from around the world. Last year, members of DBR held their First Annual invitation only “UnConference”, called DBR FunFest. There were over 50 people in attendance. The group was composed mostly of active DBR members, several sponors, and a select few invited guests.

Planning is currently under way for this year’s Fun Fest. It will take place again in beautiful Dana Point, California in early May. DBR FunFest will play host to a deep sea fishing trip, kayaking, a beach luau, a golf tournament, and a poker tournament. In addition to all of these fun activities, much time is spent at this free conference in casual, spontaneous meetings and discussions. There are also several planned group meals.

There are still sponsorship opportunities available for various events and dinners during the conference. Sponsors interested in supporting this event will also be invited to spend time with this well connected and influential group of domainers.
To get in touch with the organizers, email Donna Mahony (donna@donnamahony.com) or Bob Olea (bob@domainsalesplus.com). Last year’s sponsorships filled up quickly. It is anticipated that this year’s gathering will be larger and sponsorship opportunities are expected to sell out again.

DBR is one of the two forums where I post and comment with any frequency, and it’s a great community.

Domaining Spain News and Updates

I received an email with a number of Domaining Spain related updates, and I wanted to share them with you. I am hopeful that I’ll be able to make it. The conference will be held April 25th to April 27th, 2013 in Valencia, Spain.

News and Updates:

– Braden Pollock will be the conference moderator. Braden will ask the questions of panelists and lead the discussions.

– Conference agenda has been posted on the Domaining Spain website. Looks like a fairly broad agenda, which will likely draw a larger crowd.

– Sponsorship opportunities are available for interested companies. Contact Jodi Chamberlain at  Jodi@32events.com  for more information.

– Jodi Chamberlain  announced that she will shave her head if she raises $50,000 for The Water School before the conference. Several domain industry professionals did the same last year, raising tens of thousands of dollars.  The Water School “is a global non-profit organization based in Canada and the US with a mission of providing simple, safe, strategic and sustainable clean water solutions to the developing world.”
