Second Annual DOMAINX 2015 Coming Up in August

The second annual DOMAINX domain investing industry conference will be taking place August 7-8 in Bangalore, India. Conference organizer Manmeet Singh emailed me to let me know the event will be held at The Taj West End, a luxury hotel and conference center with top amenities.

Tickets for the conference became available yesterday afternoon, and it is free to attend the conference with the early bird ticket offer. This pass includes a free lunch on August 8th. There is a $99 conference pass also available. This pass includes an “Exclusive Networking Opportunity” as well as a free lunch on both days of the conference.

Four of the speakers on the DOMAINX agenda should be

2015 World Domain Day Event in India

The 2015 edition of World Domain Day will be held at the India Habitat Center in New Delhi, India on April 10th. If the event’s Facebook page is accurate, the turnout is expected to be in the hundreds.

Tickets to attend the conference are still for sale on the website via EventBrite. Standard tickets are free, and VIP tickets that offer networking opportunities are also available. Last year’s event drew quite a bit of coverage in the local press.

According to the World Domain Day website,

THE Domain Conference Offering “Spring Holiday Special”

If you didn’t purchase your tickets to THE Domain Conference when they were on sale last month, conference organizers have shared another special offer. Here’s the special discount offer Howard Neu sent to me:

“This coming weekend, many will be celebrating Passover and Easter throughout the world. It is a time of peace, harmony and reconciliation.

THE Domain Conference will be celebrating the holidays by slashing its current Admission Price to $399.00. Just use the code TDC15 and register at http://THEDomainConference.club. This offer is good only through Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015.”

THE Domain Conference will be

THE Domain Conference Extends Special Offer

Howard Neu announced via email that the offer of a reduced price for THE Domain Conference has been extended a couple of days. THE Domain Conference will be held in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from September 26-29, 2015.

Here’s the bulk of the email sent by Howard  to email subscribers this morning:

“I have recently sold IrishWhiskey.com to Jamesons Irish Whiskey. So to honor the Irish, our $349.00 Introductory Special has been extended two more days through St. Patrick’s Day. Just go to http://THEDomainConference.club to register before the price goes back up to $499.00. Just use the code MARCH15 and don’t forget to reserve your room at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Pier 66 Hotel and Spa in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida at only $109.00 per night. It’s the biggest bargain in South Florida, but there are only a limited number, so act NOW!”

In case you are wondering, the sale of IrishWhiskey.com made Ron Jackson’s weekly sales report at €10,000 (approximately $10,600 at the time of the sale). The domain name had previously sold for $8,000 in Moniker’s TRAFFIC Auction in New York City in 2007.

THE Domain Conference & NamesCon: Are You Attending?

There are two US-based domain industry conferences taking place within the next 12 months, and both are offering special rates to entice attendees to sign up in advance. I am curious about whether you plan to attend one, both, or neither of these industry conferences.

Howard Neu sent me an email this morning to announce a special price on conference passes for THE Domain Conference. The inaugural show will be held September 27-29, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 Hotel and Spa in Fort Lauderdale. The discounted conferences passes cost $349 (plus tax), and they can be purchased using the special offer code “MARCH15” at THEDomainConference.club. The regular conference rate is $499.

NamesCon is currently offering its conference passes for $399 on the NamesCon website. There is no special offer code required, and  the price will eventually climb to $999 as the conference gets closer. Over 200 people have already signed up to attend NamesCon, which will be held January 10-13, 2016 at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas.

I am planning to attend

Howard Lefkowitz Keynote Speech at NamesCon (Video)

I published an interview with Howard Lefkowitz, who recently launched a new venture using new gTLD domain names. Yesterday, Tech Cocktail published an article about Lefkowitz and his new company, and it’s worth a read.

Lefkowitz gave an animated keynote speech during NamesCon last month, and the video of his speech was uploaded to YouTube. When you have half an hour, I think you’ll enjoy watching the video I embedded below.

I don’t regularly attend the keynote speeches at domain conferences, but I think this one is worth your time. I think Lefkowitz’s new venture is fascinating, and it will be fun to see how things work out and how the company grows.  Lefkowitz’s company, One Degree World, is building websites on new gTLD extensions including .Vegas, .Buzz, .Ninja, .Club, and perhaps others.

Here’s the Howard Lefkowitz NamesCon keynote speech video:
