3rd Annual DNSeattle Event in May

The 2016 DNSeattle domain investor event has been scheduled for May 12th. The third annual event will be hosted by GoDaddy at their Kirkland, Washington headquarters. It is being organized by DomainSherpa’s Michael Cyger.

In 2014, DNSeattle was held on top of the Space Needle and there were approximately 50 people in attendance. Last year, the event was held at Rightside’s headquarters, and there were about 75 people in attendance. Michael is hoping to cap the event at around 75 people to keep it more intimate. “I want people to be able to see everyone there, if they want the opportunity to speak to them,” he told me.

Advance registration is required, and the cost to attend the event is $15. Making this event even better is that

Sedo Showing Off New Domain Extensions at SXSW

Sedo_Domain_Village_SXSWSedo is opening its “Sedo.com Domain Village” at this year’s South by Southwest conference in Austin. The exhibition area is intended to inform SXSW attendees about the new domain extensions and how they can be used. Sedo is partnering with Uniregistry, Radix, Rightside, .club, .me, .top, .asia, .rest and .bar for this year’s appearance.

According to a Sedo press release touting the Sedo Domain Village, the company is expecting to see 20,000 visitors between March 12th and 17th. Last year, over 8,000 people visited Sedo’s frozen yogurt truck. I presume that last year’s exhibit was successful enough to warrant an expansion this year.

Some of the websites that Sedo is promoting with its creative exhibits include:

Dietmar Stefitz Shares Domaining Europe Updates

Domaining Europe will be held May 29-31, 2016 in The Hague, Netherlands.  The conference will be held at the Grand Hotel Amrâth Kurhaus, and I am thinking about making the trip to Europe to attend this year’s conference.

According to the conference website, this will be  the 8th Domaining Europe conference. Tickets are available for sale via EventBright, and the cost is  â‚¬623.02.

Conference organizer Dietmar Stefitz shared some updates about Domaining Europe that I want to share with you.

Domaining Europe 2016 Date & Location Announced

I received an email from Dietmar Stefitz, founder of Domaining Europe, and he announced the date and location for Domaining Europe 2016. The conference will be held May 29-31, 2016 in The Hague, Netherlands. Dietmar let me know that the conference will be held “just after “TheNextWeb” in Amsterdam, so visitors have the possibility to participate in both events.”

The conference will be held at the Grand Hotel Amrâth Kurhaus, which seems to have an exceptional rating on Hotels.com and Trip Advisor.

Domaining Europe is in the process of updating its website, so there isn’t much information about the event listed yet. I have never been to a Domaining Europe domain conference, but I have heard good things and would like to attend next year.

If you have thought about attending or are considering attending in 2016, add this to your calendar.

2016 DomainX Dates Announced

DomainX organizer Manmeet Singh emailed me to let me know that the dates of the 2016 DomainX domain conference have been announced. The popular Indian domain conference will be held in New Delhi on August 6 – 7, 2016. The venue for the conference has not yet been announced, but it is being co-organized by Manmeet Singh and Gaurav Kohli.

The 2016 event is going to be the third DomainX conference. In both of the previous conferences, hundreds of attendees from around the world attended. Ron Jackson and his wife were attendees this past year, and he wrote a couple of articles during the event.

Twitter Poll: Are You Attending NamesCon?

I saw that Twitter began enabling users to post polls, so I thought a poll about NamesCon 2016 would be appropriate.

As I wrote about this morning, NamesCon is offering conference tickets for $399 until the end of the day tomorrow (October 31). The rate will increase to $599, then to $799, until the final $999 door price. The conference will be held at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas from January 10-13, 2016.

I am wondering if you plan to attend the conference in January. Over 1,000 attendees are expected, and I wouldn’t be surprised if closer to 1,200 people attend. There have been over 500 registrations to date, according to NamesCon founder, Richard Lau.

This is my first Twitter poll, and I invite you to participate. You are also welcome to comment here if you don’t have a Twitter account.
