David Clements shared that his Brannan’s domain brokerage recently closed several significant deals. Brannan’s reported that it brokered PK.com, Sterling.com, Hotdog.com, SeniorCare.com, WEE.com, Trampolines.com, and HealthcarePlans.com.
Although the sale prices were not disclosed in the newsletter, I would presume many of these domain names were sold in the 6 figure range. In fact, Clements went on to say that “If these sales were public, 4 of these would be in the top 25 and all of them would be in the top 100 for 2015.” For a domain name sale to be in the DNJournal top 25 sales for 2015 (to date), it would need to be $140,000 or higher.
HotDog.com is one of the few sales that was publicly reported due to its sale on Flippa. The domain name sold for $150,000 by a buyer who used the buy it now option. Trampolines.com was sold by Brannan’s via Flippa as well. The domain name and associated website were sold for $81,500. The buyer of this domain name used the buy it now option. Finally, WEE.com was also reportedly sold for $55,000 via Flippa, although I don’t see an archived record of the deal on Flippa.com.
One of the most interesting aspects of these sales is that it appears most were sold to end user buyers. I think it’s good to see large sales being made to people and companies who intend to use their keyword / descriptive domain names. I also think it’s interesting to see brokers working in conjunction with Flippa to close deals. I am sure this trend will continue.
Should mean your Franks.com is worth a nice little fortune.
