Take Some Profits and Enjoy

I’ve built my business by keeping costs low and reinvesting most of profits into more and better domain names. When I have a nice sale – often after an intense or long negotiation, I like to spend money on something special to celebrate it.

A photo shared by someone named Youssef resonated with me:

Maybe it was seeing a beautiful beach while shivering here in the low temperatures of a Boston-Winter, but I liked how he shared a photo from a trip he earned by investing in domain names. Reinvesting profits is wise, but celebrating a win – particularly with friends and family – is a great way to reward yourself.

Domain investing can be a rewarding business. It can also be a business that runs 24/7. You can run yourself ragged looking at lists, evaluating domain name opportunities, and managing your business. When you find success, it is important to celebrate it.

Whether you purchase a thing or go on a vacation, you should take some of your “winnings” and reward yourself. Let that serve as a bit of motivation to close the next deal.

  1. Don’t spend on worthless frivolous bullsh*t and vanity that has no value.

If you dream of having a “Lambo” or adding a Rolls Royce to your existing “Lambo,” then get lost, get out of the business and grow up, then come back.

Even the great Rick Schwartz should repent of his lovely watch collection, and don’t even try crying “oh but investment, investment” about that worthless vanity and idolatry. But at least with him it was money he could afford to burn, despite not putting it to good use.

This world has an expiration date. Not just our mortal lives if we’re not around at the end, but this world itself. And I don’t mean “climate change,” an asteroid, or even the folly of our great leaders who risk and for many even actively pursue World War III every day, but God has made it clear that i.e. an end which He will bring about is pending sooner or later now. And for all you who are or identify as Jews in our business, of whom there are clearly many, make no mistake: it is the God of the Jews, i.e. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who has made this clear. We are certainly closer now than 70 AD, and everything is clearly proceeding in a manner consistent with biblical prophecy – God’s word.

Don’t be fooled by the way I express myself here either. I actually have an interesting background, the kind you would not expect or perhaps more like want to believe, including Mensa, Choate, you name it. In fact I even visited Elliot’s neck of the woods when I was kid making the rounds to apply to the great hoity-toity boarding prep schools. You can just reach a point in life where it’s time to be extremely frank and straightforward, and of course obviously I’m anonymous here to begin with anyway.

Okay, carry on, enjoy your day, and if you’re going to spend any profit, be wise and exercise discretion and restraint about it. ๐Ÿ™‚
