The organizers of the DomainFest Asia conference have announced the dates and location of this year’s conference. DomainFest Asia 2016 will take place September 19-22 at the Cyberport in Hong Kong. The event is in conjunction with the Internet of Names conference.
I understand that the location is fairly close to downtown Hong Kong, so people traveling from out of town would likely fly into Hong Kong. I am not familiar with the area though, so before booking your hotel, it would be advisable to do some local research.
The sparse conference website promises that more information about the conference will be forthcoming. In fact, conference organizers are currently looking for speakers and panelists as well as conference sponsors.
My calendar looks clear right now, but I will wait to see the agenda and conference ticket prices before booking my travel to Hong Kong.
Do you think you’ll attend DomainFest Asia? If you attended last year, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on the conference as well as your opinion on whether it is worth the trek.
Awesome. We have an office in Hong Kong so I might have to use
that as an excuse to come! I am eager to see how the conference is received locally.
My office is in Cyberport. Its approximately 10 to 15 minutes by cab from central Hong Kong.
@Elliot thanks for the mention – the website should be updated next week with more details – which will include hotels – but there is a LeMeridien hotel on premise at Cyberport. Other hotel suggestions will be listed on the website, and early-bird pricing will also be available when the tickets go up for sale.
Elliott,
DomainFest Asia 2015 in Macau was one of the best new conferences I have attended, with excellent organisation, with a fresh audience and content different to what we normally expect.
We are committed to support DFA 2016 with a greater presence this year and look forward to it very much. I would highly recommend serious domain players consider attending this year.
ggg
We are Hong Kong based and will be attending for sure
Take note that it is far better to say:
“DomainFest Asia”
than to say:
“Asia DomainFest” or “Asian DomainFest.”
Hence it is no surprise that the best form was chosen. So when evaluating domain names that include the word “Asia,” keep that in mind too.
