Daily Poll: Do You Use Domain Brokers to Sell Domain Names?

I don’t regularly use domain brokers to sell my domain names. There are some exceptional brokers, but I typically do my own marketing when I am looking to sell a domain name. I have worked with several brokers before – both when buying a domain name and selling a domain name. There are certainly some standout brokers in the industry who do a great job on behalf of their clients.

  1. Most answer no because either
    A. Brokers reject their names or
    B. They’re passive sellers, only responding to inquiries not doing outbound

  2. I think there should be a standard in the industry that if you give your name to a broker then you expect him or her to bcc you on all emails and to keep a record of any additional companies contacted via phone (and the persons contacted) so if the domain doesn’t sell by the end of the listing agreement you know exactly who has been contacted and when. If I’m not mistaken most brokers generally don’t do that.
