Congratulations, Ron Jackson

Ron Jackson, whose DNJournal is one of the best sources of information about the domain industry and issues impacting the industry, was honored at the Domaining Europe conference this past week. I want to share this video of assorted domain industry professionals who couldn’t attend the conference giving Ron well deserved platitudes for his work.

Feel free to leave your own good wishes to Ron.

  1. Ron is deserving of praise and appreciation. He is steadfast, and has earned the respect that so many have for him. Congratulations Ron on being recognized for such a wonderful contribution to the domain name industry!

  2. Elliot – thanks for your comments in the video – I very much appreciate that you and so many other friends took time to do that (though I don’t know how ALL of you managed to keep it a secret for so long!) I am glad no one had a camera on me while they were rolling that film in Spain – I was totally surprised and found myself alternately tearing up and laughing like a lunatic (all the time hoping no one was looking at the newly bald guy acting so manic depressive in the span of those 11 minutes!) Also, thanks to those commenting here. Love you all and so happy to be in the world’s best business with you!

  3. BIG Congratulations to our dear Ron and Diana,

You both set the bar so very high for leadership, integrity, honesty and friendship and that is why the whole domain industry respects, honors and cherishes you both. Thank you for being you and bringing us all together on so many levels as a family and making our business fun and a joy.

Thanks also Ron for your selfless contributions exemplified by your shaved head and ever expanding heart.

All that you bring into the lives of others comes back into your own and you most certainly deserve all this wonderful praise and much, much more.

    Love to you and yours,

    Chris and Linda

  4. “So what this OVT thing means exactly?”
It’s the question I asked around 2005 to DNJournal’s owner.
I was surprised to quickly get a response from the owner of the site.
Nothing has changed, Ron continues as kind it was the first time and DNJournal.com is still the site every domain lover like to read.
Congrats for this well deserved award and for had the courage to shave your head to support the Water School.

  5. Elliot….you are one major kiss ass. It is so abvious to me that there are is a select group of domainers like yourself think you rule the domain industry. You all act like you know it all as well. Just because you have your own website and post articles everyday doesn’t give you anymore authority to be the big no it all on the block. I do visit domaining.com and it makes me wanna vomit when i read ads like this. You all kiss so much ass. Why can’t you simply call Mr. Ron Jackson on the phone or email him and tell him how much you adore and appreciate him, instead of kissing his ass in front of the whole world. I think im gonna go puke now….

p.s.- I will be very shocked if you have the balls to accept this message so others can read about my thoughts. I am sure there are other domainers who agree with me ,but they don’t really have BIG BALLs like me to tell it like it is.

I post all comments, whether they are positive, negative, or neutral. Frankly, I don’t care about what you have to say about me or others. I was honored to be asked to participate in the video and I appreciate what Ron does. It’s sad that people like you are around to ruin something nice for others. I recommend blocking my feed on Domaining.com. I also recommend not emailing me again for advice about domain names, nor trying to sell me any of your domain names, especially because of this:

“Just because you have your own website and post articles everyday doesn’t give you anymore authority to be the big no it all on the block.”

I absolutely agree with that. If I simply had my own website and posted every day, it would give me no authority to talk about this business. However, being able to buy and sell domain names as my full time profession, which is what I’ve done for since November of 2007, gives me some bit of authority in this space.

  6. Congrats to Ron. He has been an idol for me 🙂 Very nice and kind person. Aside from that @Elliot: I don’t want to comment on someone else’s comments but I do think that you do “have the balls” ( like he says) to post his comment on your post…and I admire you for that. Not many people would have done that specially when You have the power to delete or approve such a remark!

  7. Hi Ron,

Let me add my congratulations to the many that have been voiced. I heard about you being honored at Domaining Europe. Good job. Thanx for many nice articles to introduce domaining to the novice.

Hope to enjoy the specifics of the occasion on your recap of the event!

    Sincrerely,
    Louise 🙂

  8. Ron

We were joking around on the video, and hope that you got a laugh out of it, but you know that only good friends can joke in that manner and get away with it. Barbara and I and Judi and Mike Berkens and Ray love you and Diana and the time that we can spend together. I can’t believe that you let them shave your head. You have more guts than I do, that’s for sure. We look forward to seeing both of you very soon. Hope you had a blast in Spain!

  9. Ron,

Congratulations on receiving a well deserved award.

Like I said in the video Ron, you are Fantastic.

Just reserved my Ritz Carlton Hotel reservations, see you in October.

  10. Ron, your contributions to the domain industry elevate the entire business, and we are lucky to have you as one of our most respected leaders. I have always had the utmost respect and admiration for you and Diana, and this award is well deserved. Congratulations!

  11. Congrats Ron! Such a well deserved honor – and it couldn’t go to a nicer guy! You always make everybody that you meet i this business – from newbies to OG domainers – feel like they’re ‘BIG’! And that takes a special kind of personality!

  12. Cheers to Ron ! …. the Ambassador of Good Will to & for the Domain arena.

The plethors articles, industry updates & domain stats on DNJournal are invaluable

    Great Video !
