Connect With Sedo at These 5 Events

Sedo_Logo_New_RGBSedo has been sponsoring and/or  sending attendees to a wide variety of conferences and events where there could be domain name buyers.  I received an update from Sedo on Friday to share some of the events where Sedo will have a presence. If you wish to connect with someone from Sedo, one of these 5 upcoming events would be a good opportunity to do it.

In the next couple of weeks, Sedo will have a presence at Domaining Europe, the British Business Show, WHD India, NamesCon India, and INTA Meeting. Sedo’s Christoph Holler shared the following information about each event and how to connect with someone from Sedo at each event:

Global Domain Summit 2017 Set for July

Pinky Brand wrote an article geared towards American readers covering the upcoming Global Domain Summit. The China-based domain industry conference will take place in Xiamen, China from July 7-9.

If you are thinking about attending, you should definitely read Pinky’s article. You should also have a look at the video Pinky created (embedded below) after last year’s inaugural Global Domain Summit conference. It seems like the conference was well attended.

The conference website appears to only have Chinese text, so Pinky’s article is probably the best way to learn about the conference at this point. Hopefully conference organizers will add an English translation for the website. On the bottom of the home page, it shows some of the (invited but not necessarily confirmed) conference attendees, and there are some familiar faces. Among them

NameSummit in August: Domain Names and Digital Branding

Name SummitDomain attorney Jason Schaeffer of ESQwire.com and domain investor Steve Kaziyev recently announced that they are starting a new hybrid domain name conference called NameSummit. The inaugural event is scheduled for August 7-8, 2017, and it will be held at the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel.   The event will bring together people from across the domain industry as well as professionals in the digital branding space.

Steve shared why he and Jason created an event that covers more than just domain names:

“It’s been a long time in the planning to put together a conference that can bring domainers and branding specialists together right here in NYC. Branding is essential in any business or project.

As domain name investors we know the importance of building and developing the right brand. Part of the digital branding equation are domain names, these digital assets play a big role at creating and developing these brands. We are aiming at educating our attendees on how to properly brand our digital assets and at the same time educate the end user about the importance of digital branding.”

I also asked Jason and Steve to let me know what they expect attendees to take away from NameSummit. Here’s what they shared with me:

I Am Giving Away 4 Tickets to DNSeattle

DNSeattle-Logo-SquareMichael Cyger, founder of Domain Sherpa, announced that this year’s DNSeattle  domain industry networking event will take place on Thursday, May 25, 2017. The event will be held at a venue called The Living Room, which is located in Amazon’s Van Vorst building in Seattle.

According to Michael, “DNSeattle will focus on domain name  buying, selling, monetizing, due diligence and legal issues, success stories from Seattle-based entrepreneurs and investors, and much more.” Because of space limitations, only 100 tickets to the event are being sold. This sounds like the perfect sized event for networking.

One of the cool aspects of the event is that all proceeds from ticket sales are being donated to  Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, an organization I am happy to help support. To that end, I bought

Domain Investing Event in Paris This Summer

I was sent an email earlier this week  with some information about a domain investing event scheduled to take place  in Paris, France this  June. David Chelly, organizer of NDDCamp, told me the event is scheduled for June 26th, 2017 and will be held at the Paris School of Business.

I had not heard of the event prior to this morning’s email (nor do I know David), so here’s how it is described on the event website:

“NDDCamp is an event that bring together registrars, lawyers, domain names investors, SEO consultants and more generally professionals dealing with domain names. Its purpose is to promote the domain name best practices and apprehend the current key topics of the sector.”

The website also states that

Two Upcoming Domain Events Outside the US

There are two domain industry events taking place within the next couple of months. DomainX, originally established in India, is holding an event in London in April. Domaining Europe will be held in Berlin, Germany in May.

DomainX London, a one day event, Updated: this event is postponed.

Domaining Europe is scheduled for May 14-16. The conference is being held at the Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt in Berlin, Germany. The conference agenda is fairly wide ranging, covering quite a few domain industry topics. Ticket prices to attend Domaining Europe range from €423.50 – €786.50 via EventBright.

Domaining Europe is being organized once again by Dietmar Stefitz, and the event has been held for the last several years.
