Misdirected Email = Lost Leads

Michael Cyger amplified a post that offers a look into a massive pitfall for operators on non .com domain names as well as off-brand domain names. Misdirected emails, also known as email leakage, is an issue many business operators don’t even know about or understand until it becomes a problem. See for yourself:

First Look: Add Your Logo to Our 2024 PMC Jersey

John Berryhill and I are raising funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute via the 2024 Pan-Mass Challenge ride in August. Together, with your support, we have now raised more than $175,000 for this important cancer fighting organization.

Each year, we wear a customized jersey with the logos of domain industry supporters/sponsors. We will wear these special jerseys as we cross the finish line on the second day of the Pan-Mass Challenge. We will also wear them as we do our final training rides along with rides in the future. It’s a fun way to show the domain investment space supports us as we support Dana-Farber and its cancer fighting mission.

3 Domain Investing Tools I Use in the Morning

No matter where I am or what I have planned for the day, I spend some time looking at upcoming domain name auctions. The time I spend varies depending on my schedule, but on a regular workday where I am at home, I will probably spend between 1-2 hours on domain auction research.

In order to find domain names I am interested in buying, I primarily use 3 domain investing tools for research. If you use additional tools, I invite you to share them in the comment section below.

Spaceship Coupon Code for Unlimited $7.99 .com Transfers

Spaceship is a rapidly growing domain registrar founded by Namecheap CEO Richard Kirkendall. In mid-April, the registrar hit 775,000 domains under management (DUM) after passing the 400,000 mark just a few months prior.

This morning, Richard shared a Spaceship coupon code that could appeal to people seeking to transfer their .com domain names at a reduced price. The code Richard shared on X is SPSCOMTR. The code allows for unlimited .com transfers to Spaceship for $7.99 + the ICANN fee, which I believe is $.18 per domain name.

OpenAI Now Using ChatGPT.com

Last year, OpenAI filed a UDRP against the ChatGPT.com domain name. The company had been using Chat.OpenAI.com for its Chat GPT platform. In September, I shared that there appeared to be a settlement in that dispute, and ChatGPT.com transferred to OpenAI. For some time, the domain name forwarded to the subdomain that served as the ChatGPT base.

The company has now migrated its Chat GPT platform to ChatGPT.com:

Remove BIN Lander Before Outbound?

If you’re doing outbound marketing to try and sell a domain name, you might want to remove its buy it now landing page first. If you don’t, closing a sale could cost you quite a bit of money.

If you’ve targeted the right prospective buyer(s) for your good domain name, you will generate interest in the domain name. The first thing a buyer might do is visit the domain name to see what’s there. If you have a BIN landing page showing, the buyer might proceed with the purchase without even responding to your email. While this is an okay problem to have, you’ll still end up paying more in commission for this deal.
