Early Bird Pricing for 2025 ICA Meeting

2

I booked my flight and hotel for the 2025 ICA Meeting in Las Vegas. The event held earlier this year was excellent, and I am looking forward to attending the member meeting again next year.

Last week, the ICA announced tickets for the event went on sale at an early bird price of $399 for ICA members. Tickets are on sale via the Zeffy platform, which I had not used before buying my ticket. According to the email, the early bird rate ends on July 31. I don’t know what the non-discounted purchase price will be once the deadline passes, but I bought mine while booking my trip to Las Vegas.

This event is exclusively for ICA members (current and those who join before the meeting), so you’ll need to become a member before buying a ticket and attending.

According to Coin Telegraph, there has reportedly been a security incident involving domain names at Squarespace. “Multiple decentralized finance (DeFi) apps were targeted in a domain registry attack on July 11, according to an X post from blockchain security platform Blockaid,” the article reported. As you may recall, Squarespace acquired the domain names registered at the Google’s domain registrar after Google exited the domain registrar business.

Registrar Where My Last 10 Afternic Sales Landed

After I sell a domain name, I don’t pay much attention to it. Occasionally, I will look to see how it is being used, but I don’t really follow my sold domain names after they’re sold.

Last month, Namecheap Founder and CEO Richard Kirkendall sounded the alarm that his company would “most likely” leave the Afternic sales network.

With Afternic listings still showing up in the Namecheap registration path, I was curious to see which registrars have been responsible for my most recent 10 Afternic sales. To do so, I did Whois searches on my most recent 10 Afternic sales, not including LTO deals or the a sale I closed using the Afternic checkout link.

DomainLeads Integrated into Dropping.pro Email

One of the paid tools I use daily is the Dropping.pro email alerts. I created 3 alert emails with different parameters, and each morning, I receive 3 emails with domain names coming up for auction that have certain attributes that may make them appealing to me.

Since the launch of DomainLeads.com, I have been copying names from the Dropping.pro emails and doing a bulk search to add another search layer and identify even better targets. I previously wrote about how I have been using DomainLeads.com. Interestingly, I have found myself saving money rather than spending more, but that’s a different story.

This morning in its weekly sale report, Sedo just reported a record setting .Game domain name sale. Sedo reported the sale of X.Game. The domain name sold for $160,000 USD. It is the first publicly reported six figure .Game domain name sale.

When the Best Prospect Goes Under

It feels pretty good when a startup founder wants to buy your domain name. I know the domain name can probably incrementally help the business, and it will likely open some doors or impress some people as they raise capital. Oftentimes, it can be challenging to get that startup to make an acquisition commitment. ‘We’ll be in touch after we close our next round,’ a founder will tell me.

Every once in a while, I will touch base and see if anything has changed. Perhaps the business has gained traction, grown revenue, or the company has realized it is hampered by its current domain name. Sometimes founders will stay in touch, and other times they disappear.
