I think the NamesCon domain auction being held on NameJet has the potential to be big. There are many awesome names up for sale and it seems like most of those already have bids. As of right now, there are several million in bids placed, although only one auction with a reserve price north of $10k has hit its reserve. There are several no reserve auctions above $10k though.

Monte Cahn, a co-founder of Right of the Dot, is one of the organizers of this year’s auction. In a tweet on Monday, he said that he believes the NamesCon auction is going to set a record for the largest domain name auction (beating the $12.3 million high water market set at TRAFFIC 2007).

$1 Million+ Sale of JG.com Sets NameJet Record

JG.com sold at auction on NameJet yesterday for $1,035,000. The sale is the largest sale on record for the domain name auction platform. Once the sale is closed, it will rank as the second largest public domain name sale of 2015, just ahead of the PX.com sale and sale of 588.com.

There were  440 bids from 269 bidders. Interestingly, there were 5 bidders who placed bids at or above $800,000. Because of the late bidding, the auction extended more than two hours beyond the original ending time.

Will JG.com Sell for More Than $1 Million?

JG.com is in auction at NameJet. When I wrote about the auction yesterday, the high bid was $751,000. The high bid now stands at $805,000 and there are 5 different bidders who have bid over $700,000 to buy this domain name.

Yesterday evening, Media Options’ Andrew Rosener (who earlier this year sold PX.com for $1 million +) commented, “JG.com is liquid at $1M – $1.4M right now so I expect this auction will get very close to that level if not above.” I think Andrew is quite experienced with 2 letter .com domain names.

JG.com is currently up for auction on NameJet, and bidding has surpassed $750,000. There are currently 320 bids from 267 bidders, and the high bid stands at $751,000 with a little over one day remaining. The auction is a public auction, meaning anyone can participate in the auction.

Great Domains Auction Results: HSZ.com is Top Sale

Sedo’s monthly Great Domains auction concluded this afternoon, and the auction results have been published below. The auction resulted in over $200,000 worth of sales and 24 domain names were sold.

The largest sale of the auction went to HSZ.com, which sold for 65,580 EUR (roughly $71,700 at today’s exchange rate). BMV.com sold for $41,125 and OZX.com sold for $24,999. The four largest sales of the month were for 3 letter .com domain names, and many of the other sales were short domain names.
