Alvin Brown shared a full recap of his experience at the Ashville Domain Investor meetup organized by Rick Schwartz. It’s a nice summary of the event, and it will serve as an endorsement of the event should Rick decide to host again next year. Within his article, Alvin posted a video featuring a talk by Michael Berkens, who shared his thoughts, experiences, and insight regarding new gTLD domain names and investing in that asset class.

Radix shared an infographic that offers an overview about the premium domain names the company sold in the first half of 2019. Radix operates a portfolio of nine new gTLD domain extensions, which includes .Online, .Tech, .Site, .Host, and others. In its infographic, the company highlighted some information about the domain names that were sold along with where the domain names were sold. I believe this report only includes “premium” domain names that were retained by the registry for resale.

MMX Releases AdultBlock and AdultBlock+

Earlier this morning, domain registry operator MMX announced its AdultBlock and AdultBlock+ services are now on the market. These two services were created “for trademark holders seeking to protect their brand identity across its adult portfolio of TLDs.” In 2018, MMX acquired ICM Registry, and as a result of the acquisition, MMX now operates adult domain name extensions (.XXX, .Sex, .Porn, and .Adult).

Spotted: Two Totally Different Domain Names

I am always on the lookout for good domain names when I am out and about. Earlier today, I took a drive to Canton, Massachusetts to pick up some beer from a great brewery called Trillium. I ran in their 5k a couple of weeks ago, and I ran past a church that was using a .Church domain name. I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of the church sign then, but I remembered to do it today when I was in the area again.

On my way to take the photo of the .Church sign, I stumbled across a totally different domain name on the back of a truck. Apparently, there is a Del Monte warehouse right near Trillium, and the backs of their trucks proudly display the Fruits.com url (along with FreshDelMonte.com). Fruits.com was created back in 1997.
