I saw a job posting that might be of interest to someone with experience and expertise in the domain name space. Disney posted a job opening on LinkedIn for a Domain Names Project Specialist. It appears that the job will be based out of Disney’s Burbank, California headquarters.

This morning, Escrow.com released its Domain Investment Index report for the Third Quarter of 2019. Because Escrow.com facilitates a large percentage of private domain name sales, especially those that sell for the highest amounts of money, the company is in an excellent position to offer an overview of the health of the domain name aftermarket and provide a view of what types of domain names are selling and for how much.

Guardian Podcast Discusses Domain Names

The Guardian published a podcast about domain names, and I think it’s worth the 25 minute listen on your way to work or when you have some time. The free podcast is part of the publication’s Chips with Everything series from Jordan Erica Webber.

The basis for the coverage about domain names and domain name values is the upcoming auction of the Democracy.com domain name. In fact, the podcast introduction is an interview with the owner of Democracy.com, discussing what the website was about and why the domain name is coming up for auction.

Nominees for 2020 Lonnie Borck Memorial Award

The Internet Commerce Association (ICA) released the names of the nominees for the 2020 Lonnie Borck Memorial Award. The award, which is named in memory of Lonnie Borck, will honor someone “whose contributions have fostered a sense of community within the domain name industry.” There were nine people from within the domain investor community who were nominated for the Award.
