LA.com Sold via Media Options

In my morning DomainTools Domain Monitor alert email I received this morning, I noticed a registrar and registrant change for the LA.com domain name. LA.com had been registered at GoDaddy Corporate Domains (formerly Brandsite), and it transferred to GoDaddy under Whois privacy.

Using Screenshots.com – and also Archive.org, I could see the domain name resolved to a Media Options landing page with a $5 million price tag. I reached out to Andrew Rosener, CEO of Media Options, and he confirmed that his company brokered the deal. Chris Zuiker and Andrew managed the sale. Unfortunately, Andrew could not comment on the sale beyond confirming that the domain name was sold.

Bread.com Acquired by Alliance Data Systems

In a DomainTools Domain Monitor alert email I received over the weekend, I noticed that Bread.com was unlocked and pending transfer away from GoDaddy. The domain name transfer was completed, and the Bread.com domain name transferred to MarkMonitor. The new registrant of Bread.com is Alliance Data Systems Corporation:

Why I Prefer Transfers at Dan.com

It’s always nice to see the triple email string at Dan.com notifying me that a domain name was sold on the platform. One of those messages is to ask how I would like to handle the domain name transfer. With most of my domain names registered at GoDaddy, I am given the choice of doing a push to Dan.com’s holding account or sending the authorization code for an outbound transfer.

You’ll Never Guess How Deel is Now Using Deel.com

Earlier this week, Jamie Zoch reported that the Deel.com domain name was acquired by a startup called Deel. Deel.com had been owned by Francois Carillo, and the startup called Deel has been using LetsDeel.com for its website.

Judging by a few Twitter comments, it looks like the acquisition of Deel.com will be well-received by the startup’s customers and prospective clients who have been mistakenly visiting Deel.com instead of the correct LetsDeal.com. This is unsurprising since people tend to add .com to the name of the website they want to visit assuming the startup has its brand match domain name.

Alex Bouaziz, CEO & Co-Founder of Deel, excitedly mentioned Deel.com on Twitter a short while ago, and the company’s @Deel Twitter account retweeted:

Gravity Forms CEO Comments on Gravity.com Acquisition

The Gravity.com domain name has been acquired by Gravity Forms, a custom form building platform for WordPress-based websites. The domain name acquisition was announced on the company’s Twitter page yesterday morning:

I reached out to Carl Hancock, the Founder of Gravity Forms, to ask him about the domain name acquisition.

Make.com Acquired By Integromat

In January, I reported that the Make.com domain name appeared to have been sold. Make.com is a high value domain name asset that had been long-owned by Digimedia. At the time of publication, the domain name was registered under Whois privacy, and there wasn’t an active website operating on it.

Earlier this week on Twitter, a company called Integromat announced it launched a new brand called Make on the Make.com domain name:
