I am not a regular bidder on Dynadot expired domain name auctions. I have bid on just a handful of domain names there over the years. Because I have a bidding account though, I received an email from the company announcing that the ending time for its expiry auctions will be changing. Bidders who participate should take notice.
Here’s the information that was shared with me in an email announcing the time change:
On the heels of its auction last month that resulted in the sale of 240 .UK domain names, Sedo held another .UK domain auction that closed today. This auction saw 68 domain names sell for 28,621 GBP, which is just shy of $35,000 USD.
The auction just ended this afternoon, so the sales are not yet closed. Once the buyers pay and the domain names are successfully transferred, Sedo will publicly report these sales. This should be considered tentative until Sedo reports them officially.

This morning, I saw Collect.com in my DomainTools Domain Monitor email, and it appears to have changed hands. The new registrant of the Collect.com domain name is a company called Cruz Bay Publishing, Inc. On the Collect.com home page, there are several publication logos featured.
I wanted to see if I could learn more about the sale / acquisition of Collect.com, and based on some cursory research, I believe the domain name sold as part of a bankruptcy sale. Here’s more information about the sale from an article published on MediPost in June of this year:
In June of this year, FTD Companies filed for bankruptcy. The company, which has long been associated with the floral business, was also involved in the general gift and personalization business. The company has operated brands such as Shari’s Berries, Personal Creations, Gifts.com, and others.
Sedo hosted a .UK domain name auction that concluded earlier today. 240 .UK domain names were sold via auction. The total sales value of the auctions was 76,149 GBP, which is approximately $95,254 USD.
There were quite a few excellent keyword .UK domain names in auction, and the order of the results was a bit surprising to me. Put another way, if I had to guess the order of the sales ranking them from largest to smallest before the conclusion of the auction, I would have been way off.
It looks like Arizona State University Athletics Department let the SunDevils.com domain name expire. Arizona State University (ASU) athletics teams are known as the Sun Devils. As a result of the expiry, the domain name is now in auction at GoDaddy Auctions. The current high bid is $5,100, and it looks like there are six bidders participating in the auction. The auction ends in one week.
