I don’t really share the domain names I sell or sales prices of domain names. I have publicly shared a handful over the last 10+ years, but my strong preference is to keep my sales and sale prices private. Occasionally, I have been asked about why this is my preference, and I want to share one example of what can happen when someone makes the decision to share a sale publicly.
Cameron Winklevoss Compares Domain Names to Crypto
Cameron Winklevoss, Co-founder of a Bitcoin exchange called Gemini (which operates on the brand match Gemini.com), tweeted about domain names a few days ago, comparing the early days to crypto assets:
Cyberspace assets = domain names
Cryptonetwork assets = tokens1990: 4-letter domain = $10. Same domain today = few millions max
2009: bitcoin pizza = $10. Same pizza today = ~$80millionAbility to own a piece of Cryptonetworks > Internet.

Direct.com: Great Domain Name on a Local Billboard

I want to share a photo I took yesterday afternoon on my way home from swim lessons. The billboard is advertising Direct.com, a domain name used by a local credit union called Direct Federal Credit Union. I spotted the billboard on I-95 in either Needham or Wellesley, Massachusetts. It was the first time I can recall the name of this credit union before, and I think it is an effective advertisement.
Traffic All of a Sudden
i bought a three word call to action .com domain name via DropCatch.com at the end of 2017. I don’t think the domain name had much traffic shortly after acquiring it. All of a sudden, my domain name has been getting a considerable amount of traffic. I have also been getting phone calls and emails via the domain name inquiry form.
Domain Broker vs Domain Investor
I think I make it pretty clear on my business contact page that I am not a domain broker: “Top Notch Domains, LLC is not a domain broker and does not offer private domain consulting services.” I have enough domain names to sell in my own portfolio that it does not make sense for me to spend time selling domain names owned by other people.
In Loving Memory of Charlotte (Charlie) Gilbert

I am terribly saddened to share the news that Charlotte (Charlie) Gilbert passed away. Charlie recently underwent a double organ transplant at Duke University after battling Pulmonary Hypertension for quite some time, and she suffered some serious complications following her operation.
