Hotel Engine Rebrands as Engine with Engine.com

In June, with the help of DomainTools, I noticed that the Engine.com domain name was pending transfer and the nameservers had recently changed to Cloudflare. This valuable domain name transferred to Cloudflare, where it is currently registered under Whois privacy.

We now know who acquired Engine.com.

The ASAP.com domain name was sold in a bankruptcy auction managed by Heritage Global Partners (HGP). The sale price was $340,000, plus an additional 19% buyer’s premium. The total paid for the domain name was $404,600.

David Barkoff, Senior Vice President at Heritage Global Partners, confirmed the sale has fully transacted. David also let me know that final sale price was solely for ASAP.com, and he shared the following comment about the recently concluded auction:

Rocket.com Sold via Hilco Digital Assets (Update)

In what I believe could be one of the top domain name sales of all-time, Hilco Digital Assets brokered the sale of Rocket.com. The domain name is currently pending transfer away from Network Solutions, Whois records at DomainTools show.

This morning, I reached out to Andrew Miller, Managing Director of Hilco Digital Assets, who had previously mentioned the domain name. Andrew confirmed the domain name was sold but could not comment about the sale price. “We can confirm that we oversaw the sale and acquisition of the Rocket.com domain name, in a win-win for the buyer and seller,” he told me via email.

Atom.com was Reportedly Sold at a Loss

When the domain name marketplace and branding platform now known as Atom.com was rebranded, I was under the impression that the company acquired the domain name from Andy Booth. James Iles reported Andy’s acquisition of Atom.com in 2022. Both Andy’s acquisition price and subsequent sale price were unreported.

Without being privy to any details, I was under the impression that it was another nice domain name sale for Andy, who has also sold and/or brokered the sale of great domain names like Universal.com, Tiger.com, Wolf.com, and too many others to list.

As is often the case, there is more to the story. According to a post from Andy this morning, Atom.com was actually sold at a loss.

Solutions.com Sold for $415k by Sedo’s Mr. Premium

Sedo broker Mark Ghoriafi, who may be more well-known in the industry as “Mr. Premium,” has successfully brokered the sale of Solutions.com. The domain name was sold via Sedo for $415,000 USD.

Mark announced that he brokered more than $1 million worth of domain names in the past 8 weeks:

This is a nice feat considering the Summer months are typically slow.

Giving Efty a Try

I’ve known about Efty for a few years, since the company has been advertising on my blog. I decided to give the platform a test with around 500 of my domain names. I am using the account option that will allow me to have up to 1,500 domain names in my account at a monthly cost of $36.

The domain names I chose for this test are priced between $1,500 – $90,000. They aren’t my top tier domain names, but it’s a mix of inventory-quality and higher quality assets that have buy it now prices. Most of the names are priced under $10,000.
