On Thursday afternoon (January 30, 2020) at 4pm, NamesCon will be honoring the life of Charlie Gilbert. Charlie was a beloved friend to many in the domain industry. Sadly, Charlie passed away last year after courageously fighting Pulmonary Hypertension. Charlie is missed by her friends and colleagues who continue to think about her and have been honoring her memory in various ways.

Tony told me what he paid for the domain name many years ago, and while the ROI was solid, the annual return did not look as rosy. Gold.com Appears to Have Been Sold

It appears that the Gold.com domain name has been sold sometime in the last week. Gold.com transferred from corporate domain registrar CSC to Uniregistry. The domain name is now registered under Whois privacy proxy and has a “launching soon” landing page. Jamie Zoch was the first person to publicly notice the transfer of Gold.com and speculate that the domain name was sold:

Joyride.com Sold for $300,000 via Uniregistry

In its sales report for the past week, Uniregistry reported the $300,000 sale of Joyride.com. The domain name was acquired by a startup that is anticipating a Fall of 2019 launch. This was the largest sale of the week reported by Uniregistry.
