Earlier this afternoon during the NamesCon conference, Escrow.com announced its 2020 Master of Domains award winners. The awards are given to the ten highest grossing individual domain name brokers from the prior year. Escrow.com shared this year’s award winners with me along with some information about their business. Congratulations to the award winning domain brokers:
1. Drew Rosener of Media Options
Andrew Rosener is CEO of MediaOptions, which started out 12 years ago as a small partnership between Rosener and his wife Anna. Drew and Anna bootstrapped the company’s growth and learned by watching others’ successes and failures. Today, MediaOptions is one of the leaders in the domain name industry, responsible for some of the most significant sales of 2019.
2. James Booth
James Booth is founder and CEO of Domain Brokerage firm BQDN.com. He entered the domain industry in May 2015, and has already brokered over 250 three-letter .com (LLL.com) domains and several two-letter .com domains (LL.com), along with several other premium names. Booth grew his brokerage BQDN quickly to become a powerhouse of high value sales in 2016, 2017, 2018 and now 2019.
3. Brent Oxley
Brent Oxley is a serial entrepreneur and avid domain investor. In 2002, Brent started the web hosting company HostGator.com, which he grew into a thriving business of over 1,000 employees and over $100 million in annual revenue. After selling HostGator.com in 2012, Brent went on to create Drivetanks.com, a one of a kind experience where guests can drive and shoot real tanks, and Oxhuntingranch.com, the #1 hunting ranch in America. While building these businesses, Brent expanded his domain portfolio to over 180 premium domains, including rx.com and drone.com. While continuing to build his domain portfolio, Brent plans to launch Create.com, a company focused on the web hosting and domains market.
4. Andrew Booth
2019 marked a year of positive change despite the apparent diminishing wholesale market of liquid domains. Andy realized that the key to staying in the game was adaptability and the trend in the market was strongly towards one-word .coms. Many opportunities presented themselves and continue to do so, so 2019 was one of the most productive and rewarding years of all.
5. Todd Reum of CategoryDefining.com
Todd Reum owner and founder of the premium boutique domain brokerage “Category Defining” CategoryDefining.com formerly “Superb Domains”. Todd’s easy going attitude, expertise and 100% confidentiality terms on all of his domain sales brokering has earned him the reputation as the guy “who flies under the radar.” If you want a completely pure confidential deal done on your top premium domain name, whether buying or selling, Todd is your guy. Todd has been active in the domain industry as an investor and broker since 1996 and brings a wealth of experience and connections. Todd is also the owner, founder and CEO of established 5 star organic supplements brand “Amazon Thunder” since 2005. Todd’s co is also launching the video game “Survive” on the premium domain Survive.com, coming out soon.
