TLD Registry to Offer “Chinese Domaining Masterclass”

1

I want to share some news I just received via press release that might interest NamesCon attendees. TLD Registry, the company that operates the ChineseLandrush.com website that you see advertised here and on other domain industry websites, will be hosting a “Chinese Domaining Masterclass” during NamesCon.

According to Mitch Watkins from TLD Registry, “Four unique Masterclass sessions will be held all throughout the week of NamesCon, and repeat sessions will be given so everyone can have a chance to attend. For those who attend at least three out of the four sessions, will be given their own complete 100-page curriculum binder, which will be the only known guide to help domainers confidently invest in Chinese domain names.

Although I don’t generally attend many panels at conferences, this is something I will probably attend. I know nothing about the Chinese domain name market (aside from a general interest in numeric and short .com domain names), and it seems like a very good opportunity to learn something new.

TLD Registry is a sponsor of NamesCon, and through this sponsorship, the company  is offering these lectures at no additional cost to registered NamesCon attendees.

For additional  information about the Masterclass and for full details, please see the press release below:

Wine.Club Up for Auction at NamesCon With $150k Reserve

I saw and wanted to share the tweet below from .Club registry CEO Colin Campbell regarding the Wine.Club domain name and its inclusion in the NamesCon domain auction that is being conducted by Right of the Dot:

I reached out to Campbell and .Club Chief Marketing Officer Jeff Sass to ask about the auction and the $150k reserve price. Here’s what Sass had to say in a response to my email:

Share Your NamesCon Panel and Speaker Ideas

4

I’ve been trying to coordinate my trip to Las Vegas for NamesCon, as I am trying to balance a party at Mohegan Sun that Saturday and the NFL playoff games scheduled for the weekend. While doing this, I spent some time on the NamesCon website to see when I need to arrive (looks like Sunday afternoon), and I saw the following note:

“Speaker and Panelist submissions are currently being accepted for the 2015 NamesCon. Have a great idea? Have a cool, transformational product or service the world needs to hear about?”

I don’t really attend many panels or listen to the keynote speakers unless they are notable. I guess there is no better way to schedule “notable” panels and keynotes than to ask attendees what they would find interesting.

With that in mind, I thought I would open the floor and do a bit of crowdsourcing to see what you would be interested in hearing or learning about at NamesCon. I thought I would share a few of my ideas with you, and I hope you are interested in sharing your ideas as well. If you want to share your ideas with conference organizers in private, there is an email address on the website for idea submissions.
