Daily Poll: Is Apple’s Use of a .Apple Domain Name a Big Moment?

6

Apple is using one of its .Apple domain names to market its newest line of iPhones. I am sure some people, especially those with a vested interest in the new gTLD program, will look at this as a big moment in the short history of the new extensions. I am also sure that others will brush it off and say that it doesn’t really matter.

I want to gauge what readers think about this news. Is it a big moment in history, not important at all, or somewhere in the middle? Cast your vote now and feel free to share your rationale:

Daily Poll: Do You Own a 3 Letter .com Domain Name?

6

Yesterday, I wrote an article about the launch of the 3 letter .com wholesale marketplace, LXME. The marketplace platform was founded by Giuseppe Graziano, and it targets domain investors looking to buy or sell three letter .com domain names at wholesale pricing.

I have owned and sold several three letter .com domain names, including SHS, RER, KJP, PJP, and a few I can’t remember. At the present time, I only own one – Hoy.com. I thought it might be interesting to see how many readers currently own three letter .com domain names:

Daily Poll: How Much is Excel.com Worth?

3

Hilco Streambank is marketing the sale of Excel.com. I think Excel.com is an exceptional domain name. It is short, and it has a positive connotation. I could see Excel.com becoming a widely known standalone brand if none of the brands currently using “Excel” in their branding opt to purchase the domain name.

According to a press release distributed by Hilco to promote the sale, “Hilco Streambank has set an initial offer deadline of October 18, 2018 and set a minimum opening bid amount of $500,000.” If you have an interest in acquiring the domain name, be in touch with Dmitriy Chemlin, Richelle Kalnit, or Jack Hazan.

For today’s daily poll, I would like to know what you think Excel.com is worth. Share your additional thoughts in the comment section:

Daily Poll: GoDaddy Auctions Login Issue?

2

I wrote about a problem logging in to GoDaddy Auctions. Two other people mentioned having the same issue when I asked on Twitter. I thought it might get a better response if I post a poll to see if anyone else is having a log in issue. Perhaps it is my current browser and/or my MacPro desktop combination.

Let others know with a vote in the poll and feel free to comment about the issue if you want to be more specific.

Daily Poll: How Much Money Would it Take to Start Today?

4

Yesterday morning, I posted a poll question asking if someone could start off in the domain investment business today and make money. More than 75% of the people who voted said, “yes,” which bodes well for those who are looking to give domain investing a shot.

Several of the comments were people who thought it was possible but that it would take a solid bankroll to be successful. I tend to agree with this thought, although someone could easily spend a boatload of money on bad domain names.

Today’s poll asks how much money you think is needed to successfully start investing in domain names. I think it should be assumed that the person not only has money but also has some knowledge about domain investing and is willing to spend time to learn before spending the money.

Daily Poll: Could Someone Start Today and Make Money?

9

There are many introductory posts on domain forums from people who are just starting out investing in domain names. Beyond the forums, people register domain names each day with the hope of making money from them.

Making money from domain investments can take a considerable bankroll, in addition to countless hours learning about domain names. Even then, there is no guarantee of success.

Do you think someone can start today and make money from domain investing? Let’s assume they have an average bankroll and no special knowledge about domain names or domain investing.
