Did Lebron James Acquire Lebron.com?

If you visit the Lebron.com domain name right now, you can see that it forwards to LebronJames.com, the website for NBA superstar Lebron James. Lebron.com is currently registered under privacy at GoDaddy, so it is unclear if Mr. James acquired the domain name, but it appears that someone associated with James may now control it. This was reported this morning in a tweet from Daryl Lopes:

In early January, Joshua Schoen also reported that the domain name was forwarding to Lebron James’ website:

Mode Acquired Mode.com Before Series C Funding

This morning, TechCrunch reported that “Mode, a five-year-old collaborative analytics platform based in San Francisco, has raised $23 million in Series C funding led by Valor Equity Partners.” In total, the company has raised $50 million in funding. Smartly, Mode acquired the brand match Mode.com domain name prior to the announcement of the most recent round of funding.

Chris Zuiker Discusses the Leasing.com Rebrand

Chris Zuiker is a senior domain broker at Media Options (Andrew Rosener’s brokerage company). From what I understand, Chris has brokered some of the larger Media Options domain name deals. I saw a video Chris shared on LinkedIn that discusses the recent Leasing.com rebrand. I shared my thoughts on the rebranding from ContractHireAndLeasing.com, and I think it’s always good to hear from someone else.

Here’s what Chris had to say about the rebrand to Leasing.com:

ContractHireAndLeasing.com Rebrands as Leasing.com

A company called ContractHireAndLeasing.com recently rebranded as Leasing.com. The announcement was made in a LinkedIn post and video shared by the company and its founder late last week:

Target Using Logo “Emoji” for Domain Name

Nat Cohen sent me an interesting photo he took today, which I shared with readers below. It appears as if Target is using a Target logo emoji for its url promoting job opportunities at the company. Here is the photo Nat took – pay attention to the url that was shared twice in the advertisement:

XFL Related Domain Names are Registered

0

While looking through my DomainTools emails this morning, I noticed quite a few XFL domain names registered at MarkMonitor. The domain names were registered under the corporate registrar’s privacy proxy service, DNStination Inc., so the actual registrant of the domain names is unknown. None of the domain names seem to resolve at this time.

Yesterday,Β the XFL announced it will have teams in 8 cities, and those cities will be revealed on December 5th:

There are more than 8 cities (and regions) represented in the domain registrations I saw and listed at the bottom of the article. If these domain names were registered on behalf of the XFL, it is possible that this was done because of the potential for future expansion or to keep people in suspense. I don’t see any XFL related domain names for potential team names.

Earlier this morning, I reached out to someone associated with the XFL, but I did not hear back about from him.

Here are the cities and geographical areas that were part of the domain names:
