Many Western Domain Industry Professionals in China

When I read about a domain name conference in China, it is usually after the fact. I see photos and videos published online, but it almost seems like a totally different industry. This week it is different.

I was invited to the World Domain Conference taking place in China this week, but for a few reasons I couldn’t make the trip. I wanted to attend the conference, but it didn’t work out for me this time.

I have been following several Twitter accounts that have published photos of the event, and I am seeing lots of familiar faces in attendance. It looks like the World Domain Conference is bridging the gap between Eastern and Western companies involved in the domain business.

The DomainX conference in India had success bringing together people in the domain investment space from all over the world. It sure looks like the World Domain Conference is also bringing people from  throughout the world to discuss domain names.

There are two US-based industry conferences coming up – THE Domain Conference in south Florida in September and NamesCon in Las Vegas in January. I am hopeful that we will continue to see companies and people from outside of the US in attendance in greater numbers than before.

Here are a few photos and videos of the ongoing World Domain Conference shared by people on Twitter:
