Howard Neu will always be remembered as a pioneer in the domain industry. A respected attorney by trade, Howard made a name for himself as Co-Founder of the TRAFFIC conferences that welcomed thousands of domain investors from around the world. Sadly, I learned that Howard passed away yesterday.
Earlier this year, the ICA honored Howard with a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award. I always felt welcomed at TRAFFIC when I was greeted by Howard and his wife, Barbara. It was like seeing family. Howard emceed many keynotes, panels, and award presentations. He was a natural.
Beyond domain names and law, I can see that Howard led a fulfilling and meaningful life. Ron Jackson wrote an article in 2009 that is worth reading today to learn more about Howard’s background.
I am very sorry to learn of Howard’s passing. There are a great many people who care about Howard, and I send my condolences to his family and friends.
Fond memories of Howard at multiple Domain Shows. He was always positive and uplifting to talk to.
We’ve lost a pioneer. I remember discussing with Howard diverse ways to explan to the public what a domain is.
We cane up with some funny ideas. Even today some people’s faces frown and contort when I’ve tried to explain what a domain is and why some short little words can be worth a lot of money. The younger generation take it for granted.. Even my youngest 4-year-old granddaughter understands domains. Yesterday she was disappointed she couldn’t buy caterpillar.com!
Bless you Elliot for all you’ve done for our industry.

I didn’t know Howard all that well but from the contacts I had with him I thought he was an extremely nice man. My condolences to his family and friends.

He has contributed a lot.
Rest in peace…in the domain heaven.
I met Howard on only one occasion at a domain event in south florida some years ago.

Blessings to his loved ones.
Also condolences to Rick Schwartz and Michael Berkins as I believe they were great friends of Howard.
