DribbleUp Using New gTLDs in Marketing Campaign

I noticed a marketing campaign from a startup called DribbleUp that is utilizing new gTLD domain names in its various advertisements. Over the past couple of weeks, I have noticed several different Facebook advertisements for the company’s DribbleUp product that are similar in nature to this one:

There are quite a few good resources available to track new gTLD domain name registrations. NameStat and nTLDStats are two websites that I find offer a good overview of the number of registrations, along with quite a bit of other data about new gTLD registrations. Both of these websites allow me to see registration trends, including actual numbers along with where domain names are being registered and how the domain names are being used.

Donuts Banters with Rick Schwartz About Rick.TV

Earlier today, Donuts launched its long-advertised sale of new gTLD domain names from its internally-held portfolio. I found a humorous Twitter thread started by the Donuts Twitter account that was created for this sale campaign mentioning Rick Schwartz and his selection of Rick.tv for his video blog.

Donuts Offers Tips to Secure Price Drop Domain Names

Earlier this month, I wrote about the price drop announced by Donuts. The registry is cutting prices on over 1 million domain names from its various extensions that it had marked as premium assets with higher than standard pricing. The sale will go into effect on November 5th, although the company is currently hosting its pre-sale through November 4th.

To help customers, particularly domain investors, find domain names of interest, Donuts published a blog post earlier this morning offering some “tips, tricks, and lists.”

2019 .NYC Best of Boroughs Winners

The .NYC registry team, which is managed by Neustar, held its 2019 Best of Boroughs Awards to honor five organizations that use .NYC domain name in each borough of New York City. Each of the five winners received a cash prize of $5,000. Over 50,000 votes were cast to select the winning groups.

Evian Water Using a .Eco Domain Name

The .Eco domain name registry posted a photo of a .Eco domain name being used by a major water company. Evian, a popular bottled water company, has a call to action on bottle of water imploring its customers to learn more about its commitment to plastic recycling: “find out more: www.circular.evian.eco.”
